    Waratah Shield 2016

I'd be surprised if Riverview allowed Year 12 to play.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

RWA and the Force have won the right to have their appeal against the ARU heard in the NSW Supreme Court

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Many of our better players are eminently marketable - but you're relying on the ARU to drive it. Enough said.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Professional rugby players would play against a team from Mars for the money. Don't kid yourself that there is any particular noble motivation at work. Trans-Tasman isn't feasible because NZ don't want to play in it.
  5. Quick Hands

    Where to for Super Rugby?

You could make a list the length of your arm with players like this. Your observation re preferential treatment is true in all aspects of rugby in Australia.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Picture of Clyne, Eales and Robinson arriving for the meeting.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

You've just insulted village idiots everywhere.:)

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The more this has gone on and the more that we seen occurring with our young players, surely it must be obvious that Australia must get out of super rugby ASAP. We're in a bad situation and the only way out is to be in complete control of our own destiny. The Angus Crichton situation has...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

You're assuming that the ARU has a plan beyond self-preservation (of board members and cronies)

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Is anyone really surpised that Clyne, Eales and Robinson rejected any compromise out of hand? If so, I have a bridge to sell you. Reasonable price, only one owner. Price neg.

    Shute Shield 2017

Same people who didn't want to know this kid signed Hanigan and Horwitz. Hanigan I rate, but not yet. Horwitz o_O
  13. Quick Hands

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

I agree with this. Interestingly, the same people who fast-tracked Hanigan and Horwitzand didn't want Michael Ala'atoa told Angus Crichton to come back when he was 23. Go figure.
  14. Quick Hands

    Shute Shield 2017

There's no reason to doubt it. Crichton would have no reason to make it up. In fact, looking at the recent history of Waratah recruitment, I'd say it's highly likely to be 100% correct.
  15. Quick Hands

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

I made no comment as to the quality of their bench. I pointed out that they emptied it quite early and this led to a loss of rhythm to the team. Doubt they would have subbed Crotty at the 45 minute mark for example if they weren't so far ahead. EDIT: And I never dismissed the comeback, just...

    Australian Rugby / RA

They tell him to come back in 5 years and yet for certain players they are fast tracked straight in. One assumes that Gibson would have been a part of this process.
  17. Quick Hands

    Shute Shield 2017

In theory, but then you come to this bit The positions left over after these are scarce and players used to training in an amateur set-up have next to no chance to impress beside fringe players who have been in a professional set-up. It's a pathway designed to fail.
  18. Quick Hands

    Australian Rugby / RA

No one who values money would give a cent to the ARU.

Clyne, Eales and Robinson - the 3 stooges.
  20. Quick Hands

    Australian Rugby / RA

As you, I've been advocating the RFU/FFR model for some time. All clubs affiliate directly to the national body. National body the runs national leagues at the top level and breaks the nation up into geographic regions for regional leagues, juniors etc. There's no place for state RUs in the...
