The Impending Beale vs Folau vs Cooper debate

Our goal should be working toward the 2015 World Cup. With Folau at 15 we have someone who is very dangerous to put kicks to. That is an asset that cannot be underestimated. The alternative is KB (Kurtley Beale) at 15 and frankly we've seen him spill high ball heaps of times. Kuridrani has been doing a great...

    2014 Rugby Championship draw

I'd trade the South African game any day of the week for a game against France. Might not get such a good crowd though. Perth is chockers full of South Africans.

    Wales v Wallabies, Cardiff, Nov 30 2013

Wales appear very reliant on Adam Jones and to a lesser extent Gethin Jenkins. Neither of those guys are spring chickens. If some more of our plays had stuck (e.g. Genia not dropping the ball), we'd have probably had the game far out of reach by the time the Welsh fightback came.

The two back bench has been done before. We are proper fucked at the breakdown if Hooper goes down. Dave Dennis is a bad selection.

    RWC 2015 Pools

I thought it was only a 6 day turn around from the 2nd game to the 3rd (vs England). If we were battle hardened from the RC, I'd take the 10 days off.

    Wales v Wallabies, Cardiff, Nov 30 2013

I'd drop one (Harris) and add Liam Gill to the bench. If a winger goes down, we put Hooper on the wing and Gill in at 7. Let's face it Hooper chases better than most of our wingers do anyway.

    RWC 2015 Pools

This. Losing to Fiji is not completely inconceivable. Send the dirt trackers in the other game. You then have about 10 days before two very tough games. If you make it through those very tough games successfully, you have a relatively easier game against Samoa or Scotland.

We already know that one. Kiwis can't spell. Or pronounce their vowels properly. :)

    Western Force 2014

I would be against it. He'd be around for 2 years and then piss off. He's 30 and the last time he played down here it was clear that he is past it. Larkham subtly sent a barb in his direction a few week ago, and the way I figure it, if Larkham thinks you're a dick, you probably are. We'd be...

    June 2014 Internationals

Likewise for Perth. We had plenty back then but we have plenty more with another 5 years of mining boom.

    Scotland v Australia, Murrayfield, 5am 24 Nov 2013

Simmons' penalties are a bit of an annoyance- but every forward commits them to some extent. It's his yellow cards that really frustrate. You can be aggressive and assert yourself without being an idiot. The punches that Simmons landed didn't look like they would have hurt in the slightest.

    Wales v Wallabies, Cardiff, Nov 30 2013

Yeah maybe. But I think it is a different story for 7s. Also, Simmons is critical to the Wallabies world cup campaign. Hooper is a fantastic player but Pocock and Gill could easily take his place. You'd lose a bit in attack but make gains elsewhere. We have no choices where Simmons is concerned...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Pretty sure we paid about 80,000 for ABC to televise some of the games in the ARC. If we can get anything out of Fox, that would be better than last time. If Fox were astute they might see that generating interest in Rugby on a FTA level might increase rugby followers and hopefully...

    Wales v Wallabies, Cardiff, Nov 30 2013

I'd drop Kepu. He gave away some stupid penalties against Scotland and didn't appear to do much else. Hopefully two weeks on the bench has given Alexander some fire in his belly. I'd drop Simmons too. He needs to learn not to be a dumb-ass. Is that his third yellow for the Wallabies this year...

    Scotland v Australia, Murrayfield, 5am 24 Nov 2013

Why not start Kepu and Fainga'a instead of Moore and Alexander?

Like! What is the worst thing that could happen? Don't answer that.

Is the TMO no longer required?

I must have missed that one. It's easier said than done I guess. Won't get any argument from me on some of the refs. Others have been great though.

Is the TMO no longer required?

These days it seems that the refs go to the TMO and look at the replay on the big screens. I haven't watched the ENG v AB game yet but it sounds a bit like how Dylan Hartley obstructed Moore but "not enough". Annoying but you just have to get over it.

    Skotte vs Bokke @ Murrayfield

I hope the Scots play a blinder. Maybe that way they'll be spent coming up against the Wallabies the following week.

    Brumbies 2014

Swings and roundabouts. You win some, you lose some. You get Pocock, you lose Lealiifano (maybe). I would spend less time worrying about who is identifying and developing emerging players and spend more time worrying about the how many. This wouldn't be an issue if the talent pool wasn't so thin.
