    Queensland Reds 2024

Interesting little tidbit from that Hdgman/Toomaga-Allen article: The value of the facilities as a recruitment incentive is a nice little bonus. I have a feeling it'll really pay off around securing talented junior players with a few offers on the table.

Yeah, with the form of Creighton and Harry McLaughlin-Phillips alongside Lynagh I don't think we see much of O'Connor at 10 next year. Likely managed minutes at 12/bench coverage.

    Queensland Reds 2024

I think the Daugunu replacement is largely from the younger guys coming through - Grealy, Aubrey and Annan, and also Navosailagi's split contract with the 7s. Beyond that it's probably a space they leave open for the challenger series, there are some good looking outside backs in QPR right now...

Yeah, Toomaga-Allen has made a huge difference to the Samoan scrum, should be an absolute weapon for us.

I was almost right, these are the current allowances for foreign players: From here: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/no-engagement-australian-players-want-more-detail-on-super-rugby-player-draft-20230615-p5dgvv.html

Looks like he's a powerful young back, in the mould of Petaia: And based on the account that posted that I think he might be the son of former Samoan international Junior Poluleuligaga. Also looks like he might be at Nudgee these days which fits the blazer. Has anyone seen him play?

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Eddie must really want to see the filth win :(

Some very interesting signing news on Instagram: I don't know much about Pierre Poluleuligaga other than he looks to be a 15 year old Samoan Wellington schoolboy, but the part that really caught my attention was Newstar sharing the signing photo with Cordingley front and centre - maybe a sign...

    Queensland Reds 2024

There was an article a while ago with the limits per team, I think it was 4 foreign players for the Reds/tahs/Brumbies and something like 8 for the Rebels and Force. I'll see if I can dig it up.

    Wallabies 2023

I think this is the key part to it here: There's a lot of support play potential with McDermott and McReight being quick, busy and capable of linking well and Kerevi, Petaia, Nawaqanitawase and Koribete all so good one on one (also Bell an Tupou will be massive for creating these oportunites)...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Sapsford did get a run last game, but he didn't exactly impress. Him and Walton look like the obvious backs to drop out as I don't think they're any chance of a wallabies call up. Flook's injury was just a concussion, should be fine before the squad is even called in.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

I doubt it. I don't think you could contract that in and you'd have a hell of time telling the player no. It's not like they have the same influence over a medical joker as they do a regular contract player either. I'm pretty sure they'll be excluded from Australia A though, I don't think...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I think Mason is ready for cameos only. Ideally get him a bit of game time in the first few rounds to see where he's at and let him take the experience back to clubland knowing what he needs to aim for if he's not ready. I think Proctor is probably the starting 13 rather than 12 with either...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

I think reserve fly half is down to Debreczeni, Edmed or Creighton based on injuries/exclusions. Debreczeni probably has the inside line given he was called into Aus A previously. I do think there might be a few more guys rested from the main squad though, the French game is a day later and...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

I don't think we'll see Hooper (or Cooper/Foley) in the Australia A squad. I'm not even sure we'll the departing players like Samu and Hodge, but that's probably down to individual decisions. As far as outs from the Aus A squad go, it Looks like Gordon and Wilkin will both be out injured, not...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I think it'd probably be some version of Eastern Sydney, Western Sydney and Country/Newcastle. The only real problem there is how many players you might need to relocate to Newcastle if you based the country team there which could complicate things, but with their entry into Shute Shield looking...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2023

So Brothers v Bond next weekend for a place against Wests in the final. Bond are the minor premiers but Brothers coming in in red hot form with very solid wins against Easts (x2), Wests and Souths over the last month. The big unknown right now is probably who gets called away on Australia A...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Yeah, there's not much particularly new or interesting in that Cully article (though I largely agree with it). The most interesting thing about it is probably the timing - there was a meeting of the Australian super rugby chief executives a couple of weeks ago and all the reporting before it...
