    Qld Premier Rugby 2023

Pretty sure it'll be one or the other - challenger series is 17/9 - 1/10 and the Barbarians have games lined up at least through to October 7th.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2023

I really think he just needs consistent game time at this stage, after what was a very injury interrupted year. It sucks that he'll miss the final, but on the flip side a run of games with Aus A/the Barbarians could set him up really well for next year.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

This just sounds like an argument for disbanding the Rebels now rather than waiting on results

    Rugby World Cup 2023

For mine it's a shoulder charge clear as day and there's nothing in it that should be called a wrap, but I think you're probably right in the judiciary seeing that part differently.

    Rugby World Cup 2023

My understanding is that while the head contact might not be the shoulder charge aspect of it is.

    Refereeing decisions

I'm pretty sure World Rugby can appeal any judiciary decision (at least at international level) it's just a very rare occurrence: https://passport.world.rugby/match-day-staff/judicial-training/sanctioning/how-do-appeals-work/

    Queensland Reds 2024

They've been pretty vocal about continuing reds to region and embracing Townsville, there is a limited number of games though. With 2 games up there last year I don't think it's that unreasonable that they've kept them in Brisbane this year, particularly when they're doing a big membership push...

    Queensland Reds 2024

It's a significantly better draw than last year for us, both in terms of difficulty and marketing potential. Less significant travel, doubles against the tahs, Rebels and Force and never more than two weeks without a game at home. Aside from thrashing the tahs at home first up I hope they're...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I love that he says we all need to get on the same page about what to do - from my perspective it looks like all the super rugby sides are agreed the ideal model is somewhere between Super AU and NRC and it's only Phil who wants this bastardised club comp.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

The scoreline might make for an interesting comparison given the second 15 from the world cup squad will play them a couple of weeks later

    Qld Premier Rugby 2023

It really leans into that run of form they've had, alongside the fact that they come into the semi off a challenging but easier game then Bond had last week. Wests are probably relatively well prepared to lose the players though, Paisami and Daugunu haven't really been there this year and I...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Nowhere near enough exposure to the pro game for mine.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

I think for this one they went with guys they could call straight up to world cup if need be, more so than future development. I think Tuttle fits that better than Teddy Wilson

Australia A - Back on the Cards

I'm telling you, Eddie is a fan of Brothers - leaves Wilson, Creighton and Stewart there and calls Gibbon and Canham away from bond and Uru, Paisami and Daugunu away from Wests. Clearing the path for the filth to get up.

Also hurts Wests for the final with Paisami, Uru and Daugunu all called up

Australia A squad is out and it doesn't help Bonds chances: https://www.rugby.com.au/news/wright-samu-included-in-australia-a-squad-to-face-portugal-2023815 Josh Canham and Matt Gibbon called up while Brothers lose O'Connor and Flook but keep Wilson, Stewart and Creighton.

I'm a bit surprised to see Foley still there, I thought for all money the overseas based players wouldn't be a part of it.

Yeah, whatever source your looking at there (allblacks.com?) is wrong. He was born 16/07/1993 so has just turned 30. He was 27 when he debuted for the All blacks.

Is that not how it already works? I know the Shute shield has different gradations of pro:

I don't think you could reclassify a player during the current season just because they don't have a contract for the next season. There's every chance they pick one up in the interim. It may not be a perfect assessment but I think you have to make that judgement call at the start of each season...
