    Michael Cheika

He has also made it clear that he has an unlimited operating budget, thanks to the riches of the RFU, something that is also foreign to Australian rugby, and always has been, relatively speaking.

Very early to make the call, but I would put money on Petaia captaining the team one day.

Do we assume that Johnson will be acting as Head Coach prior to Rennie's arrival?

RWC 2019 SF2: SA vs Wales

Marx on the bench. He should have a field day in the second half.

Money buys a lot of love.

The thing that has really started bugging me enormously is the way he repeatedly uses the phrase "know what I mean?" at least once in every sentence, sometimes more.

I reckon he is canny enough to work out ways for us to win and that means attacking one way or another. In a strange sort of way I would love to think that we will ever be good enough at the boring stuff to win that way, but we never will be.

Maybe his problem is his ego. He did some good things but he appears to be incapable of learning from his mistakes, or of considering the possibility that his philosophies are just wrong to some extent. I would bet that every successful national team at the highest level spends a lot of...

IMHO the biggest single factor in the Waratahs' winning the Soup title was Jaques Potgieter. He was immense.

    The Residency / Poaching Thing...

As a final observation, why on earth would a young rugby player who is born in Tonga into the average village family want to play for his nation of birth? There is no money in it, and never will be other than as a reference for a retirement stint in Japan.

It is not just what he earns, he has said that he has a virtually unlimited expenses budget, and I would guess a lot of freedom.

It seemed to me that he killed the Reds forward contingent by asking them to execute a game plan which was beyond them.

    The Residency / Poaching Thing...

I have not been following this bunfight too closely. But from my perspective the national jersey has been devalued a fair bit already, by the weight of money on offer in the richer nations. And of course I am old enough to remember Des Connor. At the end of the day, we are talking about...

It has always seemed to me that there is a fair degree of interchangeability between 15 and 10. So I would like to see Isaac Lucas given a trial at 10.

Not sure that I qualify as a zealot, but I do have a long memory. Randwick teams absolutely never kicked by choice, back in the good old, bad old, days. The fifties and the sixties.

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

Sinckler's try is one of the slickest I have seen.
