Wales vs Australia, 5 November 2016, (1:30am 6 November AEDT) @ Millenium Stadium

Yes it is over-simplistic. I do agree on attack and cleaning out rucks etc. they probably have different roles. But I think both Hooper (especially when the Pooper is not on the field, or Fardy) has a primary job to make turnovers/force penalties. Both Hooper and Todd share that role for their...

It's not about nullifying the other one's strength. It's about being equally effective at turnovers/forcing penalties. Todd will still win his turnovers, but Hooper should "nullify" that by also winning turnovers / slowing down ball. 1 turnover made by Todd can be cancelled out by 1 turnover...

Hooper is also a pilfering player so that works for him off the bench too - but his impact on attack will have more impact from the bench. I like the pilferer focused to start so we understand how the ref interprets the breakdown and his effectiveness that follows. Poey coming on in the last...

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

And they wonder why League and AFL are dominating crowds and viewers, they literally make it hard for die hard fans to view the game let alone new fans.

    WTF... can't be true.

NZ are doing it with Jordy Barrett this year. I don't think it's too outside the box. For example getting a like player like Tongan "Thor" involved early. Also the fact their isn't any other potentially world-class options available, would rather we develop guys then continue selecting players...

Surely in there for developmental purposes only. Guess Cheika thinks wallabies training would excel his development more-so then a full pre-season.

Nah I think Foley is pretty damn versatile. He was a good attacking fullback before he was a 10 and now he has decent exposure at 12 (and was improving each game). I don't think he'd go too badly on the wing either for a last resort.

Absolutely. Would have preferred to see Naivalu or even Morahan given a shot beforehand but wouldn't hesitate to drop Speight if another winger performed better, even over a short stint from the bench.

Hodge has defended successfully in the 12 channel for a few games now whilst starting on wing. I don't think it is worth dropping him for one poor defensive game against the best team in the world - I don't think he is a poor defender. Dropping him for his lack of attack maybe, but I'd...

Maybe fitness isn't the issue, more-so the efficiency of NZ in their attack and defence and the lack of efficiency in our game-plan. Example: 20+ phases on England's goal line without coming away with points. I think it was Mick Bryne who said he was harder to attack on the goal-line then...

    Brumbies 2017

Yeah I agree there, turnovers are his weakest part of the game. But solid all-round elsewhere. Usually exceptional work-rate - so I think that makes him a solid player. Although wouldn't be first picked at 7 if their was a pilfering specialist - depending on your game-plan. Having Fardy in the...

Coles, Franks, and Rettallic are smart sneaky enough to not get caught.

Bledisloe 1 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, 8:05pm

I dunno about that, You learn their line-out calls could go a long way in winning/distributing most of their throws. I have a feeling they learned ours for the first part of the year ;)

They did question him. That's what he was complaining about along with the clown article. Why are you so angry? Did you do it Braveheart? ;) I'm not even saying he did it, I'm just saying it's not unfair to investigate the opposing team after a bugging scandal. They do have motive after...

Bledisloe 1 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, 8:05pm

A team gets bugged a couple days before a test match it's only natural to investigate the opposition team first. So yeah, I'm serious. The odds that they actually did it are very slim but they are still the number one suspects. So settle the fuck down.

Bledisloe 1 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, 8:05pm

I'm hardly a conspiracy theorist. But given Australian rugby would benefit more then any other organisation from obtaining classified information from the All Blacks I really don't see anything wrong with them being number one suspects. Cheika included.

It is more then a visual sweep. It involves electronic devices. I'm sure Steve Hansen said it is part of there standard procedure so I don't think it's that uncommon. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if some-one in Australian rugby was guilty - Cheika even.

I think Butler has proven his worth as a starting quality super xv loosie. No where near Test level but a solid super xv player.
