    National Rugby Championship 2014

Therein you miss the psychology of complaining to the ref. Refs don't change their decision, but it is entirely possible to influence their next decision. Next time you see a captain make a legitimate complaint to a referee, see what way the next decision goes. In a 50-50 call, I bet it goes in...

Brumbies vs Reds - Saturday 22 February 2014.

If we are the 6th South African team, are you guys the 6th New Zealand team?

Waratahs vs Force - Super Rugby R2 Sunday 23 February 2014

I reckon Tahs by 12. It will be a sloppy game in terms of execution and the Force will be an absolute nuisance at the breakdown. But the superior pre-season match conditioning for the Tahs will see them put the game beyond doubt in the final 20 after a second half fight back from the Force.

Waratahs vs Force - Super Rugby R2 Sunday 23 February 2014

When Hoskins came off against New Zealand at the U20s, he received rapturous applause from the French crowd. And they know a thing or two about scrummaging. I am very excited about his debut at 3, although we should temper our expectations with consideration of his age. I know there aint a lot...

Round One: Cheetahs v Lions @ Bloemfontein (15 Feb 14)

I suppose when I say that teams will counter them what I mean is that competent teams will counter them. Surely the Lions have to be favourites for the wooden spoon. I guess what I mean is that I don't think we will see the surprise wins they had over the Tahs, Stormers, Sharks, Reds and Blues.

Round One: Cheetahs v Lions @ Bloemfontein (15 Feb 14)

I think the factor of surprise may have helped the Cheetahs a lot last year. Teams didn't expect them to have the starch that they had. This season I reckon they'll be taken a lot more seriously and their style of play analysed and countered. I'd peg them for 10th.

Round One: Cheetahs v Lions @ Bloemfontein (15 Feb 14)

I fucking hate that attitude. I know it is a stretch, but what if the Lions made a massive turn around and had the potential to make the finals. Should they frequently get a less experienced, more lowly rated referee simply because they are not expected to? What does that say to referees? The...

    Western Force 2014

Nah. I don't think it was a dig. Pocock went east after two injury interrupted seasons and those injuries were in the lower body. He missed half of the 2011 Super season through injury and was playing through injury at the World Cup. He missed almost all of the 2012 Tests. Given the type of...

    Western Force 2014

That's not strictly true. We don't always have the depth to easily shuffle people about, but it was mostly Deans who insisted on playing players all over the shop. The All Blacks move people about the backline more frequently than you'd think. Dan Carter has played a bit of 12. There have been...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Totally on board with TOCC. It seems like it would be far easier to add teams later than to remove teams if the format does work. NSW Country could be great, but the issues involved in such a team means that it may be better looked at after a year or two when there is (hopefully) a more stable...

Two guys who have nothing better to do with their time but post stupid things on Twitter? Spoken by a person with nothing better to do with his time than post stupid things on GAGR.

    Western Force 2014

Unless there is more than one, it was Round 1 against the Rebels. I think the idea of the kick was for it to be received by chasers in space. It was a bad idea, badly executed. It explained why he was on the bench for that game.

2014 IRB Junior World Championship – New Zealand

Played in last years U20s. Pretty sure he started most if not all of the games. Played very, very well in my opinion. He and Pat Sio will form part of a strong back row in the U20s I reckon.

Trial: Western Force v Pampas XV and Samoa A at ‘The Force Field’ (nib Stadium)14 Feb, Fri

For what it is worth, I wasn't hahing at you; I was hahing that your opinion of the Force is my opinion of the Rebels, which I find funny. We are all struggling not to be the strugglers. I don't agree regarding your views of the two teams though. I'd argue that our front row, back row, halves...

Trial: Western Force v Pampas XV and Samoa A at ‘The Force Field’ (nib Stadium)14 Feb, Fri

Can't seem to get the reply button to work... Hah! I'd say the same about the Rebels. We have gifted you far too many points in the last two seasons. 42% of the Rebels victories have been against the Force, and those have been dreadful games for us. Our goal should be to get out of double...
