    HSBC 7's ROUND 6 - VANCOUVER

Tell me,where does 'Titch' state that Cooper cannot possibly succeed in Rio on his limited preparation? (Which is the point that many fringe players have been muttering) No one has come close to suggesting that Quade could assemble a bunch of mates and succeed in Rio, so what's your point...

    Reds 2016

They are all to blame for being 2 down right at the end. But if we are playing the blame game it's the guy in the pocket waiting for clean ball, that the side worked to set up for a field goal, then passes to an isolated player instead. FFS pick someone who will have a crack. Send him back to...

    Force v Brumbies - Round 3 2016

I've got to say,as a long term critic of M Foley. The Force are looking ok,for once the whole is better than the sum of parts. Who would have thought a Foley coached side would score 2 tries with neither bring a pick & go or a rolling mall! Kudos!

    Shute Shield 2016

Then you obviously didn't see any games. They played some good footy last year & had an epic win against the premiers. Their colts went from making up the numbers,to being dominant in all 3 grades, and their lower grades were dramatically stronger.

And yet,in the same time frame, the Reds, with same management and coaches, have gone the other way. Why hasn't this greater profile increased their sponsorship exponentially and doubled their gate?

Either you are being disingenuous or you are not aware of the facts that you are discussing. Randwick was at its lowest point in 2012/13. A new board re energised the place, and they were very pro active in recruiting schoolboy stars & sponsors from this point. The improvement in their financial...

    Shute Shield 2016

Go back to when it was first discussed as an option,BP was keen to get it up & running if everyone supported it. He was never going to war on it. its actually the most ridiculous point made on the subject to date. the ARU would be ridiculed for even threatening to suspend a competition of 12...

    Shute Shield 2016

I agree that now that its up & running, players will do what's in their best interest. As it should be. In retrospect the clubs should have demanded irrevocable funding pledges from the ARU before they committed their resources & $$ that made the new tier possible. It's fanciful to suggest that...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Yeah really. The NRC teams are heavily populated with players from SS finalists. You really think guys who have played all year will walk away at the sharp end of the comp,to join a new team in a new comp that no one knew would even last the season? For no money! It's easy to sit back now & say...

Yeah the Rams are predominantly funded independently. How do you know what Uni invests in Stars, and whatvWicks & Easts in the country franchise? In any event had the SS not reduced their season by a month, the NRC was a non goer. Fact.

I see that for many people,SS is how they identify with Rugby, whether it's attending games, watching it on TV,or just following from a distance. A weakening in the SS can only reduce interest in the game. Saying that the SS can be replaced, doesn't take into account how many people would drift...

    Sydney Colts - 2016

There are many many more examples from both Uni & Wicks in recent years. The major difference is that their colts sides still ran out with maximum points. Which is what happens when they recruit 1/2 dozen Oz schoolboys each year. In regards to exemptions,in my view the Clancy's wouldn't be...

    Sydney Colts - 2016

I agree NSW 20's should attract no less points than oz schoolboys. Clubs should be capped with total registrations not starting sides. Uni & Wicks are starting colts stars in 4 different grades each week to skirt the points cap.

If I was another SS pres,I'd be asking Pappy if he had a copy of the report quoted. They are entitled to be blowing up if the ARU commissioned a report & acted contrary to its recommendations.

To be fair to CFS,he probably saw KB (Kurtley Beale) coming across & thought he had the momentum to absorb the impact and score. Seriously, who here thought KB (Kurtley Beale) would hit him the way he did? Kudos to KB (Kurtley Beale).

    Shute Shield 2016

do you know what he did prior to being nominated? He played in an uncompetitive School side in a comp that went for 5-6 games. Played 1/2 day in a trial to be selected for ISA , then 2-3 games(or part there of) Before playing another 2-3 games(or part there of) for NSW. He also played with the...

    Shute Shield 2016

I said to up till now, as School reps at both Associatin & state level are carnivals with a short prep prior. No it's not the same, playing 2-3 games for your association, then 2-3 games ( or part ther of) for your state doesn't compare to a full pre season & 20 weeks of training in most cases of...

No one has ever been developed by jnr rep programs to date. Hooper is a good point. He missed his final year of School Rugby due to injury.and so only played jnr reps in yr 11. Which involved literally a handful of games. He signed a pro contract whilst still injured in yr 12.
