    Shute Shield 2013

I was thinking more along the lines of the premiers plus the top team in each "conference" qualify for the big show. Unfortunately unless you play 2 home and away rounds this idea wouldn't be truly representative.

    Shute Shield 2013

I like the idea of players in non qualifying teams being eligible. A further idea might be an additional cup/plate comp (like they do in 7s) run concurrently with the main gig. Or a conference system where a group of teams based on a geographic area (north, south, west) play a comp within the...

    Shute Shield 2013

Agree that arc is sorely missed. The wallabies injury woes are compounded by us having to bring in players "cold", a month after playing any games at all, let alone the standard of itm or currie cup. Seems JON didn't want something he didn't institute being a success, he only seems interested in...

Maybe he called all the reserves mothers .... ?

If parra had fielded a team it would've been one more

How did hangana go? From the score, doesn't seem like he had that much impact.

So someone who's been out all season with an injury, bar 40 minutes, is ineligible?

    Shute Shield 2012

Coogee oval is used for league on Sunday's.

What are the eligibility rules regarding a player being injured all year?

Why would you be a ref? wicks v penrith 2nds Game was called 10 mins early because they kept trying to go the biff because they were losing. I'm know easts had similar issues. Pretty sure these weren't isolated incidents. Hats off to the rats boys for doing the right thing.

Thanks for the info about the games. Guess I misread the original post.

Someone put that each club nominates players. Any idea where the finals will be held?

And on a different note, did I read correctly that woodies 2s beat uni on the weekend? If so, uni 2s haven't lost for years have they?

Nobodies saying the west isn't needed. My earlier suggestion that parra/penrith cohost colts is, I think, a valid way of keeping both teams in colts until they can strengthen their programs. The fact is that uni openly pursue juniors, which means to remain somewhat competitive recruitment is...

TahBoy is randwick. At least half their colts grew up around the area. Same with easts, from what I'm told

    Sydney Colts 2012

How about parra and penrith splitting their games so one plays 1sts, the other 2nds and whichever fields a 2nds plays 3rds? Hopefully the split 2nd round and 8 team finals will be shown the door

Hangana had his rabbits contract ripped up for some indiscretion or another.

Only because it was on the same day as grade

    Sydney Colts 2012

How about getting to Granville, paying $10 on the door and then being told it's a fft? Another problem is that with the 2nd round system in place, teams like randwick and WH are starved of quality opposition and then have to play semis against the better teams. Then there's the question of...

I'm pretty sure randwick was well represented at that state tournament held at Milner a while back, think the 17s made the final. In league terms they are in the same area as souths, who produce many quality first graders (Merritt, Reynolds, et cetera).
