    Waratahs - Positivity thread

Its a long time since I felt this good. World domination now seems possible, nay even likely. That Reds team last week beat the team that lost the final. This week they were not in the game and from the opening whistle it was a question of how much they were going to lose by. The last time I...

    Waratahs vs Reds - R3 2014

We were crap! Don't think we won a clean lineout all night, forward passes aplenty, poor ball security, got a yellow card for a schoolboy error, so tired in the last twenty we could barely raise a jog. And to make it worse, we could only put 32 on the Reds! Its great to be a Waratah fan...

Will the Highlanders be the first team to beat the Chief's 35% possession game?

Auckland Blues To Infinity and Beyond

If they were smart they'd say he was kept on the bench by a vastly more experienced Rugby flyhalf. But its mungo commentators so who knows.

So, he'll be back in time for the finals. just as the Crusaders did last year, they'll get their act together and come steaming home. I don't think they lose much with Todd as the replacement, he's a very good scavenger seven.

Super Rugby Round Three: Rebels v Cheetahs, Friday 28 Feb, AAMI Park

McMahon's selection totally justified! Good call from the coach. If someone could kick straight the Rebels would be out of sight by now. As it is, the Cheetahs are good enough to pull this back. It'll be a long tense wait before the fat lady gets up.

    Waratahs vs Reds - R3 2014

Referee is Glen "anything goes at the breakdown" Jackson. That's a big leg-up for the Reds IMO.

Wasn't just you, Ash. Before the Foxtel comments we had mungoes vs rah-rahs and Fifita talking up his next league contract.

    Waratahs vs Reds - R3 2014

You're right. We've lost something in the lineout, though you gain from Hoiles linking play and Potgieter's physicality. I always expected the Reds to target the lineout, Simmons has matured into an absolute lineout pest for the throwing team, and that would have happened no matter which...

    Force v. Brumbies - R3 2014

From what I saw last Sunday, I think the Brumbies would have a harder time against this adjusted team than the one Foley has posted. Pek Cowan, a really good loose head prop with Wallaby caps, on the bench. Salesi Manu, one of the real hopes for the future, out of the squad. Steenkamp, marquee...

    Waratahs 2014

I fail to see what all this has to do with Waratahs 2014. Surely there are better threads to have this discussion in.

    Force v. Brumbies - R3 2014

And if someone gets injured in the first minute Andrew Smith will play 79 minutes after being on the bench because of a head knock. It might be OK by the doctors but the way that's been announced is not a good look for concussion protocols.

But they've chosen him at 12. He needs to be in the 13 channel if he's going to even get close to Izzy. Slow coach Tapuai is at 13. I reckon that Graham has got it arse about but that's no big news.

    Rebels 2014

McMahon is a bolter, but I don't think we can really comment until we see how he goes. My guess is that Fainga'a, Timani and Reid are rueing their moves south, the coach doesn't seem to rate them too highly. Kingston must be mightily pissed off, he's got more skill in his little finger than...

    Reds 2014

That post is one of the better analyses that you'll never see in a newspaper article. An absolute cracker! We haven't seen enough yet to know if the Tahs have made any changes for this year, but I suspect its substantially the same because they have focused a lot of their work on the breakdown...

Waratahs vs Force - Super Rugby R2 Sunday 23 February 2014

That's what I saw. Thirty seconds of absolute brilliance followed by five plus minutes of poor play, then another flash of brilliance, followed by another patch of poor attacking football. Defensively we were OK but no better than that (Skelton for instance missed five tackles). [I know this...

Waratahs vs Force - Super Rugby R2 Sunday 23 February 2014

Basically we scored six outstanding tries. These were scored on the six occasions we did not drop the ball, throw a pass at someone's feet or do something else really stupid. If our passing and handling improves the Reds are no chance and could lose by plenty. I hope it happens but the rest...

His Wallaby tests last season were even better. He was immense and almost won the JEM while only playing half the games.
