Wallabies vs Wales - Docklands Stadium June 16

You misunderstand me. I'd drop him for Shipperley. But hoping to see his career end at the hands of the Welsh attack is not a good sporting look.

I find the outright hostility towards Cooper Vuna saddening. Even after a win, some people can't help but wish the worst on our players. The correct attitude is to hope he has a blinder and proves the critics wrong. Some people have to have something to hate on.

So Fainga'a, Slipper. Moore and Palmer in for McCabe, Robonson, Nau and Kepu? You're on drugs. Those guys just won a famous test match. The others lost against Scotland. Next.

He did! Big ups to our man Vuna!

That's a quibble. He played a good game. Get behind your team.

I have to say the Brumbies Runners are a chance.

I liked the old Wallaby spirit. May it continue. They were up for it. Against, it has to be said, a better team.

Fantastic! I'm drunk and happy! And what a good game of rugby.

When are we going to address the crisis of not being able to play in rain?

It would indeed be ridiculous if it were so, but it isn't. There's no safety constraint on kids playing in the rain, only ground constraints, and only on certain grounds in certain conditions, in order to protect the playing surface. It's a problem on multi-sport pitches in many countries...

    It's pouring down in Coolangatta.

When are we going to address the crisis of not being able to play in rain?

This is a good thread. While we endlessly wring our hands about transient weaknesses such as the players and the coach, we tend to ignore some major weaknesses that persist through all coaches and players, and our inability to play in poor conditions is one of them. It seems anyone can beat us...

If players are getting cold, why aren't they wearing warmer gear?

In Bond films those things are always associated with rocket science.

I think on form the pecking order is probably Cooper, Beale, Lilo then Barnes. Cooper isn't in the squad because he's not yet fully recovered, not because he's rated lower than Barnes. That's silly.

Beale and Cooper in boozy incident

@Cat_A: brilliant. I'd give it a smiley except these are embarrassing.

Not offended Joe Mac. Turner hasn't lived up to his schoolboy and first season potential.

What if they were defending themselves? I'll reserve judgment until I know the facts. If I'm going to demand the highest standards from my sports stars, the least I can do is show some moral standards myself.

He's not really a tackle-breaking kind of player though. His first instinct is to skin players on the outside and he's extremely good at it, but a combination of close marking, poor coaching and a loss of confidence have inhibited that. He's also exceptional in the air: he's scored a lot of...

If players are getting cold, why aren't they wearing warmer gear?

I'm not sure. If you run around in rugby skins in -10.8c then you're quite likely to become hypothermic no matter how much body heat you try to generate. My limited understanding of physiology is that wind chill is indistinguishable from air temperature.

If players are getting cold, why aren't they wearing warmer gear?

5 c and 115 kph wind gusts is quite extreme. That equates to a wind chill of -10.8 c, hence players experiencing hypothermia.
