    Reds 2015

Nick was pretty good as the Force forwards coach too.

    Western Force 2015

Who did you have in mind to recruit? It makes sense to see how players go in the NRC (or ITM or Currie Cups) before recruiting too many new names and there didn't seem to be any glaringly obvious recruiting choices that were off contract.

    Western Force 2015

I'd still be pretty keen to see Godwin tried at 13. Maybe with CTM at 12. I think the Force would be looking at Ben Lucas more as a fullback than a 10. Not that Lucas does badly there. Maybe it depends on whether or not Sias Ebersohn stays. Somehow I doubt he will.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Maybe the Spirit can do something like the Hurricanes Jersey and have it mostly black with patches of yellow vs. the other teams which are likely to be more yellow (and/or other colours) than black.

ACT Brumbies v Western Force - The Elimination

Good win by the Brumbies. Good luck in the finals Brumbies fans. Wish we were there with you. Thanks for the kind words from all.

    Rebels 2015

Hang in there Rebels fans. I am pretty confident that in the next year or two you will start making a significant rise on the ladder. A couple of reflections on being a lot time (long suffering) Force fan: It's no coincidence that the Force's best year also matches up with the highest number...

ACT Brumbies v Western Force - The Elimination

When you are gagging for it (finals, read also sex), you will take anything (win/draw/losing BP, read also fat chicks). Either way, if we get it, we'll be talking it up for the next three weeks.

    Waratahs 2015

It's a fair gamble to make. Stay with the Waratahs for 2015. When the RWC is over someone will have lost their coaching position (I'd guess whoever doesn't make it out of the pool from Aus, Wales and England). Then either take the Wallabies job (if its open) or take the overseas coaching job. Or...

ACT Brumbies v Western Force - The Elimination

I think you interpreted it on a different level to me. I meant more along the lines of: Under performers who are hampered by really bad decision making from management. In the Waratah's case, at least some of that is starting to be undone.

ACT Brumbies v Western Force - The Elimination

I think that is a pretty fair comparison. The Waratahs are definitely Australia's Blues. Or should that be the Blues are New Zealand's Waratahs?

    Melbourne Rising 2014

I thought the Perth Spirit did better?

ACT Brumbies v Western Force - The Elimination

Given that a bonus point in this game gives the Force a reasonable chance to make the finals, it would be well worth putting a couple of hundred on the Brumbies to win by 8 points or more. Surely you'd get at least 2:1 odds.

ACT Brumbies v Western Force - The Elimination

I guess it depends on who is fit, etc. If Sias is fit and starting, territory/line-out is king. If not, maybe it would be better to have an extra breakdown warhorse.

The road home - Super rugby 2014

There are All Blacks jerseys up for grabs. The Blues have an entire pack that could arguably be playing for a position in the Rugby Championship. I don't think the Blues would be lacking motivation, especially not at home.

ACT Brumbies v Western Force - The Elimination

You know a broken clock is also right twice a day :) I'd start Coleman in the second row and move Wykes to blindside flanker. Then have Alcock and Stander on the bench.

The road home - Super rugby 2014

The Blues would surely be the favourites to beat the Chiefs at home.

The road home - Super rugby 2014

Only with a bonus point win and assuming that neither the Force or Brumbies get the 4 try bonus point win. I'm pretty confident the Blues will beat the Chiefs.

ACT Brumbies v Western Force - The Elimination

Anyone from the Force expected to be back next week? What about the Brumbies. Sam Carter, Matt To'omua, etc back?

Western Force V Reds 5th July

It is nice that for the first time in our history we go into the final round knowing that a win will see us in a finals appearance. It is also nice to know that a season that didn't look like it could be much really turned out well. Especially after two humiliating defeats in the first two...
