There have been a cast of thousands down there this year on short term contracts. They have sent a development squad to international events this year. They appear to be looking in the wrong places for potential squad members IMO.

There were no shortage of wanna be's that were happy to be canon fodder in trials to prepare the Olypic squad. Plenty of failed league players. Maybe the idea is to identify the talent,abd invite them in,and not just pick those who know there are trials on?

So the only guys he can identify are the rockstars that have already been identified? Have you been to any local 7's tournaments? There were numerous better performed players than current squad members in Kiama this year. It's an embarrassment who they include in their 'development' squad that...

If he can't identify the best who already play the code. What hope is he of identifying talent outside the code?

I don't think that cost us the game,but he had no shame in gobbing off at team mates when they scored off it. It's not like he's never fallen off a tackle......

I understand his point. I don't understand why he makes it. It's not like we got a head start or an unfair advantage over the rest. And it's like booing Santa. He makes himself look like a nark,without it serving any purpose.

You are focusing on the medal winners, where I think he was focusing on the depth of the field.

Pretty sure he was talking about the depth of the field. It's likely the top 5 this year will be top 5 in four years. But the teams that finished 6th to 12th will be much more competitive. Which will put much more strain on the weaker parts of our squad,making it a tougher event than this years...

You sure the Pius kids would be voting to get bashed up every week next year in Div 1? What's wrong with them playing in a comp where they are competitive? I don't give two shits about who is a founding member,or full member. The idea of the association is to provide competition for the Schools...

Nope, it would result in a huge dent in the gate. That lady that mans the gate in finals weeks,would pop a valve at the thought of all those people watching without paying:)
