    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Just can't stop laughing, it's so hilarious Reg.

I don't think Sean will be missed at all, but if they're not available, Quade and Kerevi will leave massive holes in the team. There is a fair step down from Quade to JOC (James O'Connor) and who will be the backup? Lolesio for further development? Spanners if he's available? Paisami is closest to Kerevi in...

    Super Rugby 2022

RN I really don't think Reg posted what he really thinks. Sarcasm, irony or just plain argumentative, I think it was meant to be a wind up.

:p:D:rolleyes: Ahh, but Reg, are you discounting the cohesion factor with your Reds? And we all know that there are only so many Wallabies in the Brumbies squad because of MacKellar's presence in the coaching team. ;)

Brumbies memberships on sale from this week. I'm assuming the draw is about to be released.

    Super Rugby 2022

Beyond the Brumbies and Reds, I think the Force have the potential to finish third of the Aussie sides. They have the makings of a very strong forward pack with a couple of current Wallabies in the front row and an excellent back 5, including Rodda another Wallaby. They won't be let down by...

    Super Rugby 2022

RN, my loyalty says the Brumbies to be the top Aussie team, but won't be surprised if the Reds finish as our best. Perhaps there's so little between them that injuries will be the deciding factor. I don't know how strong either of the Drua or MP (Moana Pasifika) will be, but I suspect at least in the first...

But no worse there than the other options.

    Wallabies 2021

Probably the best, consistently the most accurate, lineout thrower of the lot. He also came through the U20s a few years ago, so definitely has some skills.

    Wallabies 2021

You don't think a couple of tests since with no issues might be the start of a better technique? I noticed a grass cutter tackle in one of the Argie tests but he wrapped both arms around the runner's lower legs and pulled off a very effective tackle. I didn't notice any other suspect action in...

    Brumbies 2022

Put simply Seb, I reckon Simone has the best and most accurate cross field kick pass after Quade, and his long cutout passes always seem to hit the target on the chest and are rarely if ever intercepted. Both those features are also elements of his field vision which I believe exceeds Noah's at...

    Brumbies 2022

Can live with Noah at 10, but think that Irae gives us more of the QC (Quade Cooper) style of play at 10 to go with the hard running 12. Simone's better passing game would unlock attacking opportunities moreso than Noah atm imo.

Also need to keep that winning streak going for team confidence. Think I'd rather Philip with Swain for this match with Rodda on the bench.

    Wallabies 2021

Just has the flavour of going backwards to the two playmaker model that proved so unsuccessful under Cheika and one or two before him. Rather have Paisami at 12 where a couple of months ago we mostly thought he had a mortgage on the spot.

    Brumbies 2022

Interesting thought Tom. I've been thinking maybe Solomone Kata in that role. I reckon he'd be about the closest anyone could come to Kerevi. In that case, I'd move Simone to 10 for his game management and creative play and have Noah learning his trade off the bench. A side like below would...

    Waratahs 2022

Wish Archer all the best. Absolutely smashed in his first (and only, I think) game for the Brumbies this year. Needs a lot of development yet to make Super Rugby standard. Ruan was always a favourite when with the Brumbies. I thought he was the better of the twins. Seems like he might have a few demons...

Horses for courses RH. If Arnold goes down and the coaches want a maul disrupter then Swain might be the go to man.

Anyone know when the squad is due to leave and if there are any quarantine requirements in either Japan or UK? Will the closed borders still in place here affect the makeup of the squad or its preparation?

Wallabies v Argentina Sat 2 October CBus Stadium

It's not a bad looking team Adam, but I reckon I could go better : Sio, Fainga'a, Ala'alatoa, Swain, Neville ..... I guess you get the picture.:p

Hmmm. Post #3360 of 17 September 2021 on the Wallabies 2021 thread. Nothing at all about the POTY. "I’m pretty sure we will see an experimental side rolled out against Argentina for one of the games - by experimental I don’t mean stacked full of fringe players, I mean one to test if it works...
