    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

With a couple of provisos, not too concerned with the form before the Europe part of the tour. Kerevi, in form, would have made a world of difference to the way the backline operated. There can be expected to be a huge lift in the forwards play with the likely selections of Arnold, Skelton and...

Missed Samu Kerevi big time. But best game for a while from Jordan Petaia, and played long minutes. Excellent under the high ball.

GAGR Wallaby POTY 3-2-1s v JAP

    3. Nic White 2. Rob Valetini 1. Len Ikitau HM Rob Leota, Andrew Kellaway, Jordan Petaia. Probably the only players who didn't spoil their games with errors or silly decisions.

My issue was simply that you appear to have been mistaken about the relative ages and potential for development of the various options. Your statement about Kaitu'u could easily have been made about all of the others.

JB, Uelese is young. Kaitu'u is marginally older than FF (Folau Fainga'a) and 1 - 3 years older than the likes of McInerney, BPA, Mafi (I think), and Lonergan, who is the youngest of the lot.

So, no real differentiation from any of the other 5 or 6 candidates?

If McInerney, or any one of the others, shows consistency in throwing to the lineout I reckon he or the other will move rapidly up the pecking order.

You do realise that Kaitu'u is the oldest of the contenders? If he's a good age then the others are at least at good age too, perhaps better.

Didn't Horton come up through the U20s?

BDA, it will be three weeks between the last test and the one against Japan this coming weekend, and then two weeks to the next against Scotland. It might be nice to see some of the fringe players get to show what they can do, but I think it is more imperative to keep the first choice team in...

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby

Why the interest in LL? Is he better than Mack Hansen? Both play wing/fullback. Hansen is bigger (188cm, 102kg - 187cm, 95kg) , older (23 - 20), more experienced and probably faster and more elusive. Accuse me of Brumbies bias by all means, but at least Mack played in this country...

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

There have been some good sides put forward, but I like this the most. I reckon Rennie & Co will be wanting a lead, bigger the better, at half time and plan to change the front row at half time or shortly after. I think they will go with Philip as the main lock until Rory Arnold joins for...

    Wallabies 2021

As an addendum, today's daily news and comments have an excellent expose (of sorts) of the dark arts at scrum time, by the most knowledgeable practitioner I've come across in print, one Nutta. Worth a read and I reckon very few posters here would not learn a lot from Nutta's wisdom.

Was well and truly still running when I worked less than 50m away in Goulburn St in the 70/80s. Often had lunch there, but never ran into JR I have to say. Used to get some top entertainment acts, Shirley Bassey for example.

    Brumbies 2022

Haven't seen the news anywhere that Bernard "Spanners" Foley has joined the Brumbies. Am I missing something?

I know there's a fair amount of snobbery in the Forums aimed at the front page. But there is a lot of humour out there and some clever writers. Also, very little parochialism except in good humour.

Three THs to now go with the three LHs. A good signing.

Adam, you weren't involved in the original exchange of opinions, nor were you included in the addressees in my post, so I'm sure you won't mind if I just ignore your little intrusion?

Sorry Cyclo, for those not familiar with the Hossary of Nicknames (TM) - Bernard Foley. Every time he touched the ball Hoss' nuts would tighten.

Said at the time I might remind you of this BH. Now seems as good a time as any.
