    Global Rapid Rugby

They're pretty nice. Definitely my favourite of all the Aus teams. Particularly like the yellows alternate strip.

    Australian Rugby / RA

But.........she's a woman. We all know women are too feeble minded to get 'real' things done.

Fuck Foxtel. According an article on mumbrella.com.au Foxtel offered RA $57m/year before walking away. If I were RA I'd be inclined to say to Optus/Ten that if they are willing to match that in a combined bid that gives us a FTA conduit then they get the rights. Just to stick it up Foxtel. I'm...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The no kicking into touch on the full was used in GRR last year. Worked well enough. He touches on simplifying the laws which certainly wouldn't hurt.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

    Yep.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It'll be tough no doubt. Teams would have to host games in blocks I'd imagine. A single round robin is too short of a format to be sustainable unless there's coupled with some kind Cup competition or split into two distinct phases etc.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It'll be Melbourne. There's no way in hell either the Reds or Tahs would be in line and the Brumbies are almost as guaranteed as they are. Melbourne has been an expensive and failed experiment.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Super 12 was pretty damn successful. Reverting back to that format but expanding the schedule to a double round robin would greatly increase the level of content available. Yes, you'd still have to make a trip to SA/Arg but you'd still have 18 games in more than workable time zones. Regarding SA...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

So, Super Rugby would run with just 12 teams playing a double round robin. If the NCC is introduced in the form of an actual league then it should only be one national division of 12 teams running alongside Super Rugby. The 2nd division would consist of the current city based structures which alongside running...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

To truly 'fix' Super Rugby I think the best bet would be biting the bullet and going back to 12 teams and expanding the schedule to a double round robin. Accept that the Rebels experiment is a failed one. Sad but true and designate the state as part of the Brumbies catchment. In a double round robin...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Question is. What will that outcome look like? And is anyone in a decision-making role in the game strong enough to make it and keep it?

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The goal in terms of eyeballs and increased dollars in such a structure wouldn't acutally be focused toward NZ though now would it? A TT competition. Would be more about increasing the eyeballs and corporate dollars flowing from Aus. the market that has proven it is willing to pay good money for...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Bath has a population of 88k yet has one of if not the best attendance in the Enhlish Premiership. I'd hazard to guess Tauranga and the wider BoP region would be just as engaged Rugby fans as those of Bath and with in the case of Tauranga 1.5 times the population and in case of the region a bit...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Twelve teams playing each other home and away would mean a 22 game season. Seems like a pretty solid season to me. It also wouldn't dilute things too much which would preserve the quality of the competition.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Nah, Aus 5 - NZ 7/8. Would be far more competitively balanced that way.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That's because Super Rugby has completely shit the bed in terms of relevance to it's marketplace. That has little to do with the actual health of the game on a global scale. We're seeing great crowds for the Top League in Japan. Major League Rugby entering it's 3rd season with a significantly increased...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'm not totally opposed to the Jaguares featuring. There's direct flights to BA from Auckland so it's not too tough of a trip. If we went to 10 team playing in a double round robin format 17 of he 18 games would be in more favourable timezones. So not too bad. Which would be the simplest...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Deathbed worldwide? You are aware Australia isn't 'the world' right? Argentina have a second franchise in Los Ceibos. Who'll compete in Supa Liga de Amercas Rugby (SLAR for short). The first professional league for Rugby in South America. They are also supplying a number of players to the...
