    Brumbies v Chiefs Rd 11 2014

Interesting in the Sir Humphrey Appleby sense. Absolutely astounding to me - McCaffrey has looked very good in the time he has got this year.

    Force V Bulls @ NIB, Rnd 11

I reckon its just that Coleman played a blinder and they wanted to support his good form. Surprised they didn't go with Coleman and Steenkamp and eased Wykes back in, he looked pretty bashed up after the Tahs game.

    Brumbies v Chiefs Rd 11 2014

I reckon the Brumbies might just take this. That's a severely depleted side - look at the replacements from 18 up! Filipo and Crosswell starting don't scare anyone. With Carter back and a week off I reckon the Brumbies are specials.

    Force V Bulls @ NIB, Rnd 11

That was a cheap shot! I doubt his coach was too happy, Ryan was playing poo, the Bulls scrum was on top and van der Merwe was trying to get Sekope Kepu back on? If he'd tried to take out Folau or Hooper you'd understand, but taking out our weakest player?

    Force V Bulls @ NIB, Rnd 11

Right now I don't think there's a better scrum in Super Rugby. I am really looking forward to the next Bulls/Sharks game. It might well change selections for the Springbok front row. The Force will be very lucky to get parity. The Waratahs scrum just concentrated on no disasters - clearly...

    Blues v Tahs, round 11 2014

I'd like to see Douglas getting some reduced minutes by rotating the bench. Latu has been doing well this year and TPN could well play just the first half in a couple of matches. But I think sending Hooper on holiday for the Lions game is essential (tell everyone he's broken a fingernail). In...

Auckland Blues To Infinity and Beyond

Except Chieka did for Izzy and it worked. The crazy thing was that SJK tried to stick him into flyhalf. That experiment was stuffed before it started! But when you have got the All Black reserve fullback in your squad, you can't start him learning at 15. He needed an NPC or French season...

    Brumbies 2014

If true, its a good pick-up.

    Waratahs 2014

He lives!! But, reading behind the lines, what has happened is that he has had two whinges at the SCG Trust and they have told him to fuck off, either politely or otherwise. So now he wants the Waratah supporters to do his job for him, by adding a cacophony of fan complaints to try and do what...

The road home - Super rugby 2014

Without having seen this thread until I'd finished my analysis, I have written a blog article on the same subject. Lindomer's and Gel's could easily have displaced mine. Its very interesting to see the similarities and differences between all three and the justifications made. In terms of the...

Super Rugby - I am bored

Most of you have probably not seen the Sharks/Cheetahs game. Due to insomnia I turned it on and watched live (usually I tape such matches so I can fast forward). While I can see both sides of the argument, I would rather put my eyes out with a hot poker than watch the first half of the...

    NZ Match Reports

Dismal, I hate to break it to you mate but the NZ teams are currently 3rd, 6th, 7th and 8th. SJK's lot are 11th. The three teams that are in the top six from one country are Australian. And the only reason the Sharks are so far out in front is that they have played almost every match at home...

    Tahs v Bulls, round 10 2014

You're probably right, Dennis was the heart and soul of our lineout and that would be stuffed without him. But I thought Douglas was pretty anonymous last night and that may just be fatigue. He's played a lot of minutes this year. So maybe Douglas to the bench and have him come on after 50 mins.

The Awful Truth About The ARU's Financial Position

I would love to see this up on a billboard somewhere in Sydney. It is just so on the money and yet the league types just don't see it. Its why AFL is such a big threat to league. We need to be different. It shits me that everyone thinks Union is only for rich private school types (I have...

    Fantasy Super Rugby 2014

Note to self: Whenever the Chiefs are playing the Crusaders, avoid picking players from either squad for your 15. They always cancel each other out.

    Tahs v Bulls, round 10 2014

Cliffy should be back this week, so that's the size issue fixed. But perhaps a game on the bench for Dave and Kurtley would allow them a break and us to try out a few things. I certainly didn't think Horne played badly at 12 last night. We're going to Eden Park to play the Blues. Eden Park...

    Tahs v Bulls, round 10 2014

You think that was win ugly? Try to sit through the Sharks/Cheetahs match this morning. Now that was really ugly. If that's how the saffers want the game to be played we'd be better off without them. That was utterly dire! The Tahs were brilliant by comparison.

Rebels vs Force, Round 10, 2014

    Fatigue after last week.

    Tahs v Bulls, round 10 2014

Tranq, I think you've got a point. Potgeiter, Serfontein and Englebrecht are a test quality midfield. We tried to go around them and really stuffed it up. Several times Beale came back on the cut, broke them open and then we found ways to give the ball away. I think the Reds game was the last...

    Tahs v Bulls, round 10 2014

Fixed that for you. This is what I think in my moments of sanity and calmness. But then that little niggle of doubt keeps slipping back in, depending on which Bulls team turns up this could be a big win to either side because of the Bulls possible dominance in the set piece.
