Australia Needs to get better at pressuring referees

If talking to the refs does fuck all,why does he waste his time to do it before each game?

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

the ARU's driver in stopping SS subsidies was to save money. It was disingenuous to suggest that it ceased payments,as it believed this money was going to player payments . They could simply have attached KPI's for each beneficiary, if that was the reason, but clearly they didn't. The only...

    NRC onwards and upwards

It looked like they drew a pretty good crowd today. You don't create depth overnight. Deegan,Horwitz & Kellaway are all contracted with the Tahs, do you think they are better off training in a bubble, or playing for country,in assisting their transition into match day squad members?

Bledisloe 2 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, Wellington, 27 August 2016

Wow that's weird, I went from being all outraged at that decision,to massive feelings of schadenfreude, after thinking about a few games Bismarck played against us. Karma is a wonderful thing...

    How to fix the wallabies

In real life, the guy says if I chucked in $100k,how much would it improve the side next year? If, unbelievably he was told, thanks mate but we will struggle on with what we've got. Why don't you offer it to the Riff. .... don't worry about it, I'll keep it thanks.

    Sydney Colts - 2017

is your understanding of Rugby that shallow, that you can't comprehend that no norths players being included in a 45 man trial is a huge anomaly?

    Sydney Colts - 2017

All of them? I don't think I've ever seen a colts team that only used top age kids all year. Let's remember they picked 45, not 15! I'd assume that 60% of players in colts 1's are top age, 40% would equal 4.8 team or 70 ish players. So 45 selected from a pool of 70 odd, and not one from a grand...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Why the angst over player payments? Papworth's article is not about getting funding to pay club players, presently the ARU gives no money to premier clubs. It's about recognising that the current structure is broken, and that all the people with a say,are earning a living from the game, and have...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

You can't hold a volunteer office holder of an amateur club responsible for investing in the growth of junior clubs, especially when the ruling body levies these players. If everywhere was growing juniors & his area was performing poorly against the trend, then you might have a point. But blaming...

Huh? Google it,find out when he was appointed Prez, then find out how many years before that, North Ryde RSL bailed them out. Write him a letter and tell him 2 out of the last 3 comps isn't good enough, there are other KPI's that you, as a non member believe he should be prioritising.

What's your point? No one is suggesting League players should be black listed, merely they shouldn't be given the inside track on pro contracts without first proving themselves. It's good to see Simone proved his worth this year, and I believe his good form has been recognised with an EPS contract.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

No he's the President of a club that has been in the top 3 clubs throughout his tenure as President, and refused to invest on philosophical grounds. He has many times criticised the ARU for wanting clubs to fund a new third tier that the ARU wanted/needed. His belief is that clubs have always...

What does the ownership of TG Milner have to do with anything I this topic? If you were inferring he was criticising players for changing codes to earn a $$ you might have a point, but he isn't. He's criticising the numpties who are recruiting failures/journeymen from another code, when there...

    How to fix the wallabies

If the ARU just copied the NZRU annual reports, it would be a massive improvement. The first pages of their annual report lists their KPI's, and their performance measured against these indicators. That would be a good start. Anyone know BP's KPI's?

The pigs with their snouts in the trough ,at the races on grand final day, pretty much sums up Rugby administration in Australia in 2016. Says it all!

FFS What's QC (Quade Cooper) going to do without any fucking quality ball? What sums up the game for me last week, we get a penalty & kick go the corner. They win our lineout, and kick a great kick under no pressure to get out of the red zone. Fuck me they win our lineout again, and score a couple of phases...

They are totally reliant on the ARU for survival. It's not hard to attach conditions to any cheques you write. IF you have the conviction to effect change.

    The Wallabies Thread

Totally agree that the optimum approach would be to assign 4 top players to the 7's program for a year. One thing we learned again this year, is that doing things half arsed never works,in any endeavour. That, and the 7's coach that we re appointed for another two years adds no value.
