RC - Wallabies vs Springboks, Gold Coast Sunday 12 September 8:05 PM

Hodge has been the reserve back who could fill in anywhere but halfback from the bench. Seems at present that he’s equal to or better than the players he’s brought on to replace.

I liked Gambles game too. Reads the game so well and is constantly involved. Hope he gets to play somewhere.

    Correct. Slapping forehead emoji

we need Uesele as reserve hooker for his scrummaging as much as anything else. Don’t want weak front row replacements giving away scrum penalties in the last 20 minutes of a test

    Lions in South Africa 2021

How about when ref yells “use it” ball’s in play? All the halves take a few extra seconds to hoick up their shorts, get their plant foot in the perfect position, look at the ref, make eye contact with chasers, look at ref again before finally kicking it. Then the other team gets it, goes a few...

Bledisloe #1 New Zealand vs Australia, August 7 2021

I can see that. I think we haven’t developed any 10s for years, then the old guys retire or go overseas (or get pushed to the Brisbane club comp) and we have a bunch of promising rookies to choose from. On the plus side, we have a few good young 10s coming through at Super Rugby level who will all be...

Bledisloe #1 New Zealand vs Australia, August 7 2021

Maybe I felt bad for the guy missing all those goals. I think he will improve. Our ball was being stymied at the breakdown and we seem to be trying to play at the advantage line. If he doesn’t have strong ball carriers off him he’s going to be limited in his options. But you’re right in that the...

Which is why I wrote strong as opposed to good. Thought there was some nice touch’s from him. Wouldn’t be in a 3-2-1, but bar the goal kicking he was ok. Who’d you play there with who’s over there? QC (Quade Cooper)? To'omua? Hodge? EDIT: by the time I finished posting you’d already said JOC (James O'Connor). I would prefer...

Hate to say it, but the goal kicking cost us. Lolo was strong otherwise.

Out of hand backwards, forward out of the hand is bull. He passes before the line and is caught beyond the line. Easy

Couple of forwards not making the effort to get to the open side there

Not a fan of the grey/green socks. Love the gold jerseys. Fan shots in the lemon ones shows how good the classic colour is

Agreed. Although I think the wind might be a factor in kicking

Set piece fest. Maybe needed a more experienced lock for the line outs?

Minor breaches worked well for Mackenzie, and O’Connor for that matter.

I’d be disappointed if Sinclair wasn’t offered anything. He put in all last year, took all his opportunities.

Coach has to set standards. Into a day off or not, they didn’t adhere to a pretty simple rule. We will miss Koro immensely, Isi a bit and Pone is lucky to be there.

Ahhh. Thanks. Haven’t been on here for a bit and didn’t go back far enough to see it was Samu K and not P Samu. My mistake.

    Wallabies 2021

Don’t know if someone has mentioned earlier but Samu used to tear up Coogee Oval for Randwick at 12. I know it’s a large step up in standard, plus he has aged and bulked up for forward play. So not sure it’s even feasible or that he’s the next best option but he knows the position.
