    G&GR Fantasy Rugby Competition 2012

Pfft, what sort of team is that? Here is the top team for this week!:p

    Cringeworthy Kearns/Martin moments.....minutes......hours......

So I take it guys like Farr-Jones, Campese, Horan, Lynagh, Poidevin, Eales, McCall, Roebuck, etc were superfluous to the 1991 world cup effort eh? And wasn't Kearns in 2nd grade at Randwick because Eddie Jones was the 1st grade hooker?

    Cringeworthy Kearns/Martin moments.....minutes......hours......

Maybe it is because I am all drugged up at the moment, due to a persistent strain of flu, but I had the most horrible nightmare last night. I dreamed that Ray Hadley was partnering Marto and Kearns and Cannon in the commentary box.

    Cringeworthy Kearns/Martin moments.....minutes......hours......

I also cannot stand Brendan Cannon. Just like Mark Geyer, everytime he opens his mouth, you can pretty much guarantee it will be stupid. It would be almost impossible to teach Canno a second language, as he is unable to enunciate properly in English! Without a doubt, you can tell when the...

    Cringeworthy Kearns/Martin moments.....minutes......hours......

Quite right. I really enjoy Stransky's input into a game. He reads the game so well. Bladen has flashes nowadays, but still gets genuinely excited by good rugby, no matter who is playing it. Justin Marshall is by far the best of the Kiwis. He plays a similar role to Stransky I feel.

All Black training squad for 2012

I see Ben Smith has made the training squad. He is all class that guy. I would reckon that Taylor would get the call up once Kahui is confirmed as gone.

Reds v Lions, Super Rugby Round 13 2012

The Reds can't afford to step of the gas 'just because it is the Lions'. Already this year we have seen the underdog get up numerous times, the most recent being our southern friends all the way down in Melbourne. You can't afford to underestimate any team in this comp, and I would be highly...

Reds vs Chiefs -Suncorp Stadium 13 May

To be fair, not all of them do. I am mates with a kiwi guy who, even though he still supports the AB's, took out a 3 game Reds membership last year and upgraded to full membership this year. He takes his boy to the games and they support the Reds, no matter who they are playing.

    Current Wallabies team!

As other have already stated, I think we should go for our specialists in the front row. That would mean Fat Cat, Moore and Palmer. Kepu's scrummaging has gotten better this year, and his ability to cover both sides of the scrum (even though he much more effective at tighthead) means he is...

    Current Wallabies team!

I am warming to the idea of: 6. Mowen 7. Pocock 8. Higgers I think that is a well balanced backrow. Mowen is a real worker, which should allow Higgers to play a little looser and run on the fringes. The type of game Higgers loves. A backrow like that also provides support to Poey at the...

    Current Wallabies team!

No no no. If we are to follow Deans' logic, Mafood will be starting at 3 and McCalman will be at 8. :)

Rebels vs Crusaders Rnd 12 Super Rugby 2012

I can't agree more with this statement. The key to the Rebels victory was belief in themselves, and trusting the men around you to do their job. When a team starts playing for each other, as opposed to playing for themselves, results will follow. Beale had a cracker. He was everywhere. The...

    Force v Sharks

The Shorks have been hot and cold so far this year. With that in mind, I think that the Force could be in with a chance. I think that the Force should target the Shorks in the midfield. That seems to be their real weakness.

What is wrong with the Tahs

Ok wow, you have read way too much into things there. Instead of 'taking a swipe' at you, I actually made an observation. If you feel that insecure about the opinion you have formed, maybe you should revise it.

What is wrong with the Tahs

Oh no, I'm not playing that silly game. You have made up your mind, and I have no wish to beat my head against a wall.

What is wrong with the Tahs

Seems to me like a whole lot of excuses coming from a certain individual on this forum, no real point arguing I suppose...

    S15: Australia dont have depth

But you also cannot say that the ARU has ever really been aggressive in increasing Rugby's market share in Australia. Instead of being proactive, they seem to be more reactive. This type of strategy keeps rugby largely confined to its strongholds. Subsequently, we rely on the same pools to draw...

    S15: Australia dont have depth

It wouldn't work, as by that time the Currie cup and the ITM cup are in full swing. So I couldn't see SA and NZ agreeing to a proposal to continue the S15, as it would force their local competitions to compete with S15. Additionally, I can't see the Saffas and Kiwis consenting to a continuance...

If you say St Claires Slim, I am going to start worrying about you...

    Stephen Larkham - Brumbies saviour

It all makes sense now. I have the same feeling towards tuggers. I still hold a grudge to them knocking us out of the semis in under 16s in 1997.
