    Where to for Super Rugby?

Only if it's administered in the manner we've traditionally gone about it. I've been pushing this for a little while now but if we were to go down this route it should be done as a separate single entity organisation. Where teams and organisations don't just play in the league. They actively...

Or Fiji and a Pacific All-Stars team comprised of Samoan and Tongan players. Home and away. Twelve games a piece. Nice and solid.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Regarding Super Rugby. NZ are doing their mini comp and I'm hoping it clears the two for a rethink on the structure toward a two phased set up. First a 10 week domestic phase and then another 10 week phase with 3x5 pools.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It all has my pretty close to giving up on the game here. The Kiwi's have got there comp sorted and we should have by this point as well. But no. Same old bullshit and self interest.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'm of the opinion that PE has to be tied into the league structure. Be it the league itself or via a single entity set up with PE buying licences to operate teams in the league in exchange for an overall ownership stake in the league.

I agree. In a fairer world they'd man up to the fact that it's highly unlikely any of them would actually be relegated in the near future and not chuck another stink. But reality is there's no such thing as true fairness when it comes to money in this would. I think the impact of this...

I don't think many in the position to complain will care if the $ are right. I can somewhat understand their position. They've spent over 100 years building the 6Ns into what it is. And we have to realise that you cannot just blow up everything and start again. Especially considering the top 10...

From my reading of the article it implies that teams can only be promoted or relegated from the RC. So the 6Ns will be safeguarded.

From what I can grasp the new structure will look a lot like the original of incorporating the 6Ns and RC but would instead run over 2 years in the July/November windows allowing for each team in the top two divisions to play one another home and away during that time. Using the RC as a means of...

Well, apparently the Nations Championship is back on the table. I can imagine there were some significant $ figures behind that arrangement.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Yeah. I actually think going with the proposed 12 team league would be easier to set up in a shorter time frame. Many of the teams essentially already exist. I still think that if NZ were going to go down that path then maybe instead of going to 7 teams they could look to go to just 6 and bring...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Okay. So I've read the piece. Frankly I'd prefer the 12 team model with the Pasifika team with 4 Aus teams. Would make more sense in my opinion.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Well, there could be a work around with that. The Jaguares players aren't doing too much at present. And depending on when a number of SA players may be available. With enough warning the Force could be allowed to recruit a number of them to help bring them up to speed.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

What about the Force? Surely a 10 team competition with Aus team playing home and away against one another, same for NZ and then a game each against the teams from each side of the Tasman for 13 games would be a better fit overall.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

How is that any different from a Trans-Tasman competition?

    Australian Rugby / RA

Structurally perhaps. I'm a fan of the single entity league structure employed by Major League Rugby which is something very different from anything we've got here. But the A-League has always had some fairly significant challenges in terms of relevance to it core demographics let alone the...

They are. Crowds are great but ratings are king and their ratings have been making ours look amazing. I know a few people connected to the Sydney clubs and their sentiment is that the league is completely fucked.

A TT competition doesn't exclusively have to be just Aus and NZ eligible players. Next year actually offers an interesting opportunity in regards to international travel restrictions. Super Rugby in its current guise is unlikely so that rules out flying teams internationally. But that doesn't exclude...
