    VRU 2012

I think it is being billed as "The battle of the Hills" by the clubs. Yeah we have a couple of important rounds coming up for the other spot for the "Harold Mitchell Cup".

Round 8 games: End Hills v Box Hill Pwr House v Melbourne Sth Districts v Moorabbin Melb Uni v Boroondara Harlequin v Footscray Power House v Melbourne and Souths v Moorabbin should both be cracking games of footy. Quins won't have an easy time against Footscray either. Boroondara could sneak...

Rebels vs Brumbies Super Rugby Rnd 15 2012

Slade would be ok but I think James Lew would be a better choice. He is playing for Melbourne at 12.

    Quick taps

1-2m difference and I am fine, it's the 10-15m run to me that I have an issue with.

    Quick taps

Generally referees will point to the mark if the players want to take it quickly. I know that I have given penalties for ruck offences when standing 10m away from the ruck and the players have run to me for the quick tap. I generally point out to the player that if I am giving a PK for 'hands in...

I agree about the grounds outside of AAMI park, Quins I don't think would be able to cater for a few thousand people easily. Yeah, Boroondara getting the W finally is a good sign, the Quins v Moorabbin game apparently was very stop start as the handling skills weren't the best because of the...

    VRU 2012

The amount of parking space it has, as well as the natural grandstand of the hill makes it probably the best ground to have it at. No other of the premier grade clubs could cope with the sheer numbers that turn up. Results from yesterday: Moorabbin 18 V Harlequin 17 Power House 28 V Southern...

Box Hill v Melbourne has been changed to Romanis Reserve due to flooding at Box Hill.

Endeavour looked really good last week when they got quick ball, if they can continue that then they should win it. Also their back 3 are great counter attackers, if Boroondara are able to slow the ball and kick well they will be in with a good chance.

Games this week: Boroondara v Endeavour Hills Box Hill v Melbourne Footscray v Melbourne University Moorabbin v Harlequin Power House v Southern Districts Game of the round would have to be Power House v Southern Districts, although Moorabbin v Harlequin should be a cracker as well.

I doubt anyone would say they can't have that many players, although if that were to happen there are plenty of other clubs in that area for the players who want to move can move to.

That has ended and the Chargers are now with Melbourne IIRC.

    Tapuai to Melbourne?

College Lawn in Prahran is better IMO.

    Another glorified McCheat thread

Was he sling shotting in the sense that he was back on his heels with his arms at full extension and his head out of the scrum or was he merely "leading the hit" from the back?

    Rugby - not set pieces

The 'head to head' is about the lining up. 'Head and Shoulders' is all about having your head and shoulders above your hips, if they are below your hips when you hit there is only 1 way to go and it's down.

Whilst I agree with you about them having such a huge number of potential player I am not too sure about them as I have never had anything to do with them before.

    VRU 2012

It would make sense to do that, however what happens to the players who are hugely talented but play for teams like Endeavour, Uni etc who I don't think would make the premier division. Good point, I can't wait to see the Box Hill v Quins game as they are usually blockbusters.

Not sure yet, I would like to see him out for Endeavour or Moorabbin, someone like that.

    VRU 2012

Exciting utility back Richard Kingi will miss out again with his hamstring injury proving slow to heal, however, backrower Tom Chamberlain has finally been given the all-clear to resume playing after suffering a head knock in late March. He will play club rugby in Melbourne. From the...

    Rugby - not set pieces

If they get caught there in the process of moving, ie when 2 players bind onto them and not allow them to get out of the way, then an unplayable ruck is the best option IMO.
