It's mainly just a meeting with the players to decide on some clubs rules etc from what I understand. The topic of a Boroondara merger might be raised but I am unsure.

I believe it's the ones in the EOYT. Once I know I'll let you know.

I know some of the players I have spoken to who would happily welcome Boroondara players into the club, although I think the pros and cons of the merger need to be sold rightly to the players for them to be on board.

Apparently there is a players meeting at BH next Tuesday to discuss it.

An 8 team comp would work well IMO, it would mean that div 2 would have 10 clubs with 6 of those being strong (Northern, Geelong, Wyndham and Eltham plus the 2 from Premier) and it would make for some good games of rugby. I saw the Northern v Eltham games this year and they were cracking games...

Footscray push Moorabbin to within a point in the semi finals, they also pushed Melbourne close throughout the season. Putting them down to the 2nd division would be a sill move. Sure their juniors aren't great, but then again give them time and they will be able to get that part of the club...

There are a fair few players in that 1st XV for Boroondara who are too good to be playing in the 2nd division IMO, keep hold of them is going to be the tough thing. Especially with Melbourne RUFC not actually too far down the road.
