You'd like to think that we could contract Northham too, but I can't see any way we could contract all three. Some other franchise is going to pick up Northam and/or Jones you would think - they'll have more moolah to throw around than us.

Also spoke to someone there this morning who didn't know when the tickets would go on sale. He hadn't been told anything yet but said we should find out later this week. Anyway, I have taken out an interstate membership so I can get some priority in ticketing for the finals, others may want to...

    Reds v Waratahs, round 19 2014

Disingenuous! Not a word one expects to hear from the banjo pluckers. :)

Waratahs v Highlanders Sun 6th July @ the SFS

After that display, this is just manufactured negativity. Try saving tackle in cover was Beale back to his defensive best. I don't recall him missing twice in the one movement but if you think about it, to miss twice in the one play means at least you have to get up off the ground and go after...

Waratahs v Highlanders Sun 6th July @ the SFS

I agree. From what I could see on TV there were some empties at either end of the members and it was about 40-50% at the northern end. The rest looked very full. Can someone at the ground comment on the eastern stand? As the ground capacity is 43K, 24.5K is about 55% full. It looked much, much...

    Reds v Waratahs, round 19 2014

I'm in general agreement. Given the injury today I'd swap Douglas for Jackpot and let Beale and Foley have a half each. I'd also start McKibbin and have Phipps on the bench. I wouldn't play Hooper unless there were three injuries in the back five - Roach can fill in at seven if McCutcheon's...

Western Force V Reds 5th July

Its complicated, there are multiple options. The Force may well rue closing it up instead of going on the attack for a four try bonus point. If they miss out it could well be because of this. The Hurricanes are now one point ahead of the Force, when a bonus point would have them both on 41 and...

ACT Brumbies v Western Force - The Elimination

Against the Brumbies lineout this option has got legs. But will Coleman or Stander be best at the breakdown? That is where the the Force must win the game and Lord Laurie will have his pack working overtime to win that area.

    Rebels 2014

Its a conspiracy theory without legs. The Stormers can't make the finals, they are only playing for pride. The loss means that its now likely that the Sharks will get a home quarter final and be on the road for the rest of the finals. That was not in SA's interests, they could well end up with...

    Rebels 2014

Good news is the Rebels have the Bulls who are tired and dispirited after the Stormers game. Bad news is the Rebels are tired and dispirited after the Lions.

The road home - Super rugby 2014

The Tahs will be first. I cannot see them losing both games, they have been too good at home up till now. But after that the table gets real interesting. The Crusaders could lose against the Highlanders at home next week. The Highlanders will be desperate and the karma will be with them after...

Waratahs v Highlanders Sun 6th July @ the SFS

We can now drop one game of the next two; however, I do not want it to be this game, I want to save our wild card for the last game against the Reds at Suncorp. That makes a win today even more important! 52 points tonight means we cannot lose top spot whatever happens next Saturday and we can...

Western Force V Reds 5th July

This is a bit rich coming from a state that wants to cecede from the rest of the country now that the rest of the country is no longer propping them up with tax equalisation payments.

Waratahs v Highlanders Sun 6th July @ the SFS

That was just a dickhead mungo queenslander totally wrecking our season. I was bloody angry, but those scars are well healed now. It was nowhere near as bad as the Crusaders thrashing.

    Waratahs 2014

Just a gentle reminder, if any one was needed, of just how much matural talent Beale has. That grubber kick, off-balance, was just magic. Turned a potential tackle/ruck into a try.

More good news. Apart from Denno, what was the last piece of bad news recorded on either the 2014 or 2015 threads?

Waratahs v Highlanders Sun 6th July @ the SFS

Sunday avo, great for families, team on top and playing great rugby, other team playing really well too. You'd hope for 30,000+. For me, 25K would be very disappointing.

Waratahs v Highlanders Sun 6th July @ the SFS

Those scars go so deep with me they'll never heal. Bob Dwyer was a great coach and I love him to bits...but he was prone to the occasional brain fart and that was probably the biggest one of his career. Still, I'd back that Crusaders team to beat the current All Blacks and that night they...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you just admit to posting a lot of hot air?? Not like you to be so self-deprecating.

    South Africa restores race quotas

I'm with you Qwerty; charcoal grey-black (to distinguish from All Black black) seems to be the best camouflage. I reckon all Australian teams should issue their players with a set before the season start and only allow that colour to be worn.
