    Waratahs 2014

Nice to see that the Waratahs 2014 thread is so active. Most of the other Aussie teams discussion are focussed on the 2015 threads.

    NZ Match Reports

What is it with the Chiefs changing their backline completely every week? Don't they know what their best combination is by round 18? If I had to give two reasons for why the Chiefs are currently ninth they would be: The backline has at least three players dropped to the bench every week...

Back to Dave Dennis. That is comprehensively the most awesome team- inspiring thing I've heard about in a long time.

GAGR offer - top seats to Tahs v Highlanders for $30

For $30 they are awesome seats. Now if I could just get the missus to agree to the $400 return plane fare plus accomodation. Tempting offer, have to decline. Want to live long enough to see our finals campaign.

Waratahs v Highlanders Sun 6th July @ the SFS

Whether we win or lose against the Highlanders, the Chapman/Hoiles issue won't go away If we lose this week it makes it even more essential we win the following week as we'll be fighting to keep second place. That means Chapman has to get some match time this week after such a long layoff.

Waratahs v Highlanders Sun 6th July @ the SFS

It will be interesting to see how Hoiles goes this week. To my mind he offers a lot more round the ground than Chapman and against the Highlanders the lineout might be OK. Where I am worried is that the crucial Reds game will be a real contest against one of the best lineouts in the comp. Maybe...

    Brumbies 2015

This was 100% the worst decision Larkham made this year. If I was McCabe I would be so pissed we would scarcely be on speaking terms. McCabe was told by action if not words that he was the sixth best back (11-15) at the Brumbies. If you think that's true I have some shares in a bridge I'd love...

Waratahs v Highlanders Sun 6th July @ the SFS

Don't mind Walsh. Most refs would have left their card in the pocket last weekend to give the poor Brumbies a chance. That he didn't spoke volumes. I would have done it sooner but I do have a slight Tahs bias. If its just Carraro, Dennis and Hodge I can live with that but Rugby Gods NO MORE...

Waratahs v Brumbies 28th June ANZ Stadium

Next week if its a sunny Sunday arvo, I think the SFS will be close to a sell-out. Sydney love following a winner.

Waratahs v Brumbies 28th June ANZ Stadium

A like was just not enough. This is a GREAT post. Georgina Robinson said 29,000, it looked more on TV. But if Georgie said it, I believe it, that settles it. If the karma from putting up with Grumbles for years is getting Georgie, it is almost worth it. I have held back from posting my...

The road home - Super rugby 2014

Good analysis Pfitzy, I agree with almost all of it. The game everyone will be watching in trepidation is the Crusaders vs Blues. The Crusaders this year lack a backline to go with the Whitelock forward power. The Blues have a very good squad but have been rubbish for most of the season. If...

    Waratahs 2014

Georgina Robinson reported the crowd as 29,000. On the TV it looked to be half full, so an official 29K is a bit disappointing, but its the best crowd of the season. I think that will be beaten next week though - Sunday afternoon footy and the Sydney bandwagoners starting to get on board will...

Waratahs v Brumbies 28th June ANZ Stadium

Alofa appeared to me to be playing injured. His knee was heavily strapped and when he took the intercept and started off for the tryline I had my heart in my mouth. Over the first 30 metres Lilo was catching him and Lilo is no speedster, but fortunately Alofa settled into stride and Lilo...

The road home - Super rugby 2014

One scenario would see four NZ teams in the six and the only team to miss out is the 2012/3 champions! The Blues are a real smokey right now. The Crusaders backs are crap, so the Blues are a real chance next week and then they are at home to the Chiefs. With Kaino back and firing they are a...

    Waratahs 2014

Don't know the answer to that but I would guess that Taqele will be on the bench for the next two weeks, so he gets his four up.

Waratahs v Brumbies 28th June ANZ Stadium

I thought Kepu and Sio shared the honours until Kepu went to LHP. While not disagreeing with your general comment about the Wallabies, I thought that the scrum penalty in the second half against Ryan should have been reversed due to Sio boring in. He was at least 45 degrees angled in at a time...

    Rebels 2015

As the ARU are severely restricting who they give top-ups to, if you are not in the top 25 players you've got no chance of getting one. So, if you are third pick for your position then you are playing tests for match fees plus your Super contract. This is the reason why Mowen and Douglas are...
