    Shute Shield 2020

I suppose what I was saying was that he looked to me to be worth consideration: I did not know his background in any depth, nor did I know how long he has been around. I assumed he was a young fella. Clutching at straws. Mind you I don't think the rosiest Tahs supporter would claim that we are...

    Shute Shield 2020

Maybe they are not interested in playing for the Tahs? That lock who turned out occasionally for the Rebels, Ha'angana, was a Randwick product. Looked okay for me, but did not seem to get many minutes.

    Waratahs 2020

Okay, but I did say that I only watched the opening quarter or so, I kept an eye on Crichton the whole time, and he did nothing: the score was one try apiece when I lost interest.

    Waratahs 2020

I watched a bit of the game last night, frankly Crichton looked out of his depth. Hard to reconcile the reality with the hype.

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

Apparently not. The "ditching" did not refer to the sponsorship, it was a reference to the choice of carrier. Virgin instead of Qantas. At least it was not Air NZ!!

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

According to Wikipedia, he played soccer until 2015, then switched to rugby. That might explain his kicking ability, even though they are very different balls, there does seem to be some sort of carry-over.

One of the (very few) good things that might come out of all this is is that the NH clubs will not be able to do as much poaching.

    Shute Shield 2020

I picked up a pretty bad golden staph infection at the old Eastwood Oval, it also had a cricket pitch. Not sure whether it was the grass, or fertiliser, or what?

Wilson out of position in his first international appearance, and against the Darkness of all teams? I hope not.

Never. He burned his bridges, big time.

The optics of laying off thousands of staff but maintaining big sponsorships would be untenable.

I wonder whether Emirates will step in?

    Shute Shield 2020

Not much fun playing rugby on cricket pitches when the ground dries out, either. Council owned multi-purpose ovals might be good for the game, in that they are probably pretty cheap to rent, but not good for the players.

Interesting article about Hamish McLennan in today's "Sydney Morning Herald". So he is yet another Shore boy, eh?
