Straying a bit now from the match thread but looking ahead to 2014 i dont want to see us play Wales again before the world cup. i think we're much better off going into the 2015 with our winning streak intact. I'd like to see us play England and Ireland again next, and maybe even a return match...

I agree with this. at the same time you really do lose a lot by having a guy like Palmer on the field for 60 minutes, as oppose to a guy like Slipper. The impact round the field is chalk and cheese. I think this is why Link prefers Slipper to Robinson. By all means if we were going up against...

your quite right. I suppose I was talking from a street setting mentality, but those kind of general concepts which underpin our law (such as self defense) are worth consideration when putting people's behavoir in context

From recent interviews it sounds like Link hasn't forgotten about Palmer. Whilst he doesn't really fit the mould of the type of starting prop Link is looking for, I think Link would like him in his world cup squad none the less, most likely as a bench option. I think it is important that we...

If he genuinely believed the bite was necessary to avoid harm to himself, then it wouldn't be considered an excessive reaction. I suspect cooper was merely trying to get Phillips' attention rather than actually sinking his teeth in with any force, so I see no problem with it.

that article suggests the time for citing has been and gone

funny how the UK journo focuses on Cooper as though he's the one that was out of line, not Phillips. If Cooper did bite Phillips, it was in self defence and warranted. After all self defence is a complete defence to assault.

I agree, but CardiffBlue didn't express the comment as an opinion, but as a fact. Perhaps lie was a poor choice of wording. Factually incorrect is probably the better term.

Firstly the comment about us going backwards is a plain lie. It was the wales front row that was under immense pressure at the first scrum and was the only team penalised in the scrum. Maybe you should watch the game again. Secondly, if there is any truth to your comments than Wales are...

Not that I don't think we can't improve in those areas but im not so sure those areas are particularly glaring weaknesses for aus. Are you suggesting they are areas of weakness for aus comparative to your own team in those areas? Blindside Flanker - I thought Fardy outplayed his opposite...

Just rewatched the game sober. A few thoughts:- -Cummins is a machine. I must confuse to calling him average and "not test quality" 12 months ago. Not only in attack but in defense, he is happy to get through a lot of work, plays with intensity and aggression. He's the type of guy I wont on the...

    Spring Tour Improvements

The 2013 Springboks are a good example of a team looking much better in the second year of a new coaching regime, than in the first. we wont be the finished product next year, but we could be by 2015, which is the important thing

    Spring Tour Improvements

Funny how we had a comparatively more successful 2012 (and finished the season with a similarly hard fought win at Millennium Stadium) yet there is so much more to be optimistic about than there was at this time last year. 2013 was the year we had to have, like it or not. Going into 2013 I...

will be massive if we can go on with it. Another 40 minutes like that and we should. Something tells me this one is going down to the wire

what a first half! brilliant. Wobs looking strong. 0 scrums so far. That aspect of the game will surely become a factor in the second half. We need to fix up the lineout also

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

It'll certainly be interesting to see both guys battle it out next year. I suspect they'll bring the best out in each other. One thing which must taken into consideration is the type of rugby that is going to played at the World Cup where defence becomes paramount. That probably favours Pocock...

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

I might just point out that people were saying Pocock shouldn't replace Hooper at this same time last year. Pocock came back from a long term injury in the EOYT against Wales, dominated the breakdown, won several crucial turnovers and was just about our best player that day. That is what I judge...
