    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

Some of the excuses contributed here are just laughable. So your school doesn't offer scholarships for sport because; - they aren't called sporting scholarships by your school so they mustn't be sporting scholarships - they are funded by sources other than 'the school'.....old boys...

    2023 & 2027 World Cup Bids

Argentina would be fantastic. It's a great place, good climate, plenty of stadiums and exciting to visit.

Wallabies vs Wales - Docklands Stadium June 16

I like it because it rewards everyone who has already purchased tickets rather than just the late 'blow-ins' who get the deals.

    CAS Rugby 2012

I don't know Clark but if there is substance to the rumours of personal issues and injury concerns as expressed on this thread then somebody within his circle of trust and care needs to step in and help the young guy.

    William hatches an egg

He really needs stronger calls and communication from players behind him.... a reason to pass quickly. Like him or not, Cooper screamed for and demanded quick ball and Genia obliged. Whether it's Cooper, Beale, O'Connor, Barnes or a combination of these as playmakers, Genia needs help to make plays.

    Rugby Coaching

2 examples of the flaws in stats, both from rugby league. - Years ago when Jack Gibson coached Souths he purposely positioned Charlie Frith on one side of their defence. No big deal except Jack knew that opposition players were terrified of Charlie's brutal hits and wouldn't run anywhere near...

    Waratahs 2012

Why not also propose Hola when he's back from injury and how about adding some more white to the Waratah's outfit too? How quickly could you also get 'The Bus' fit to replace Carter? Hickey had his go, and while a nice guy, no cigar.

    New Zealand vs Ireland

I think we may have seen the best of Richie. He has been an outstanding player, albeit on the edge of the rules for many years, but the signs of his decline are there. His straight line speed is obviously slower, but what's less obvious is how slowly he is getting up off the ground. In his...

    The Naming Of The Backs

Just noticed that there's no "Happy" at the Waratahs.

    Scrum Talk

The most frightening 4 words a Wallaby supporter can hear are......."Scrum, inside Wallabies half". We've reached a pivotal point with today's rugby balls and goalkickers too. It's become too easy for too many kickers to kick goals from within 55 metres of the posts. Golf reacted by changing...

    Waratahs - Positivity thread

You can have a row of seats each at home games.

    Shute Shield 2012

Steve, the original issue was Shute Shield club's support or otherwise for this fixture. Do Club's allow/encourage their players to play or do they direct/discourage their players from playing? The details like selection guidelines, where it's played, kick off time and who brings which water...

    DON'T PANIC - G&GR Front Page getting a facelift

Terrific update and much appreciated. Thank you to all involved.

    Robbie Deans

Broad communication skills are critical in his role. He's been doing this media stuff for years and it should be a core competency by now. Wishy washy dribble doesn't cut it with professional athletes or are you saying he is completely different with the Wallaby team and individuals? A lot of...

    Robbie Deans

Robbie is a throw back to those Japanese TV shows like Shintaro and Eager Ninja's. His lips, facial expressions and voice all act independent of each other. How good is it when he either forgets what he wants to say or can't think of what to say. He gets that stupid look on his face as his lips...

    New Zealand vs Ireland

Love the way the AB players support from behind. If lateral passes aren't on, every player knows that support will come from behind. Sam Whitelock gave a great exhibition of trailing support play for a lock. He checks his running style and pace so as to not over run the ball, something our...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

Thoughts; - Scoring team kicks off - Kick off location is varied like in NFL. Example would be if a try is scored from a kick then the restart is taken by the scoring team from their 22m line instead of half way. We want running tries and this way the receiving team will receive the ball in...

What is wrong with the Tahs

Thank you ILTW, it's precisely what I meant. It takes fitness, skills and courage to play this way and not be overcome with the fear of "what can go wrong here?" when these opportunities arise. The Crusaders have been the global role models for backing themselves and taking risks for years. They...

What is wrong with the Tahs

Love 1st XV school rugby. They haven't learnt bad habits or been over coached. They play to win, not to not lose and have GENUINE passion for the jumper. Players back their instincts and themselves. There is respect for tradition and a refreshing creativity in the way various teams play each...
