    Waratahs 2020

I agree with Braveheart- the recruitment was driven more by availability than targeted recruitment. Although in saying that the Waratahs could have potentially worked harder on someone like Naisarani to sigh with the 'tahs as opposed to the rebels. So who are potential solutions/ candidates over...

    Waratahs 2020

I actually think that we are playing quite a high-skilled and very (potentially over) structured attack. The problem is that we don't have any penetration in the backline to take advantage of any potential mismatches or create breaks. Is there anyone in the market that we can potentially look to...

    Waratahs 2020

I still think we need a strike winger as opposed to two pure 'work-rate' wingers. Clark has speed but not really the ability to beat a man.

    Waratahs 2019

An option worth considering (if we believe that Mack Mason isn't the best option) is to chase Jordan Jackson-Hope as a long- term fly half option. He's very talented (and probably very cheap!)

R11: Waratahs vs Sharks @ Western Sydney Stadium - Saturday 27 April 2019

Just watched a replay of the game; I thought during the first half the Waratahs played a skilful and high-tempo style of rugby. The issue was the lack of the threat/ penetration in the closer channels meant that the Sharks players were able to fan out with ease to cover out wide. After the red...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Honest question- Is Hodge being selected in these teams primarily for having a booming boot? He's not strong enough in other areas to warrant a fullback or wing position surely.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

The guy also has no palm at all. It's a little bizarre- all he does is run straight and hope he can beat people, I'm not sure I've ever seen him beat someone on the outside.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Absolutely spot on. This might be controversial but I feel if Israel wasn't so strong under the high ball that he would have locked up the 13 jersey for the Waratahs and Wallabies for years. He's by far the best ball runner in Australian rugby and not defensively weak either. People who suggest...

R7: Waratahs vs Sunwolves - Friday 29 March @ Newcastle

Foley has (or had) a running game and the ability to take the ball to the line - Mason does not appear to have either.

    Yet they won.

Terrible sentence structures and grammar - I know^

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Trans- tasman competition- with reduced restrictions on players' nationalities. It doesn't matter that for the first 5 years the majority of players will come from New Zealand- a better product and greater likelihood of success for Australian franchises will build support

    Reds 2019

If he needs to refine his passing skills as a flyhalf at 22/23 - then it's already too late.

    Waratahs 2019

    He's not good enough.

    Waratahs 2019

On reflection though I think the former would be stronger - at least our wingers will touch the ball!

    Agreed.

    Waratahs 2019

We do need a quality winger- I don't think Rona is that effective, he's not overly fast or skilled, more robust in contact.

    Reds 2019

Sign Sam Greene and give him at least 4-5 games to start- he will exceed anything Hamish Stewart or Jake McIntyre ever provided.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Would the NZRU really be against a trans- tasman competition where there were no restrictions on player nationality between teams ala NRL? While this might result in 70% of all players coming from NZ and the PIs surely it would result in the strongest competition and best product. There would...
