I reckon he started doing it watching John Roe's team 10 years before that!

    Reds 2020

I've gota mate who refuses to watch the Reds after 60 minutes. He has to leave the room and wait for the disappointing news

    Reds 2020

It's 1-9 if you go back to last year. Thorn is safe for this year. There's no clear replacement waiting in the wings and they couldn't afford to pay him out. He'll be wanting some good performances over the next little bit before contract negotiations in April though

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

The Big Bash was getting 350k and up to 450k on Foxtel when , which inspired Ten to pay $100m for the rights. That's the level of popularity and investment you need to get "the full Big Bash promotion and packaging". Super Rugby games are around 50k on Fox at the moment. I reckon we would be...

Doesn't seem like he was caught using.

    Hometown Refs

There are only 3 Oz refs on the panel. I wonder if we'd even have that many if the knew they'd be spending a month or months in South Africa. (Not that it's a bad place, it's just a very long trip away from home especially for refs who tend to be a bit older.and have families etc) Much easier...

    Hometown Refs

Plausible guess (maybe?). Australian and New Zealand teams strive to score tries under penalty advantage, and are successful, thus not recording as many penalties as the South African teams at home who want the 3 points more often.

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Jaguares v Reds - Buenos Aires Sunday Feb 16 10:00am AEDT

Where it becomes material is if you can stop the maul. The defensive line should be on the heels on the try line, but invariably they are 4m further up at the back feet

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Jaguares v Reds - Buenos Aires Sunday Feb 16 10:00am AEDT

The other side of the coin is true to though with the lineout/maul offside - nearly every single member of the defensive line is also offside. They all advance way before the lineout is officially over

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It absolutely does matter which station it's on. Same product on at the same time on a main channel will be many times higher rating than on nay of the minor channels

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Jaguares v Reds - Buenos Aires Sunday Feb 16 10:00am AEDT

What I don't understand is why every team doesn't focus on developing an unstoppable, unfair maul. Why is it only unstoppable for a few teams?

    Hometown Refs

You'd probably need to have a look at neutral refs in each of this countries to see if the home team is getting more penalties regardless of where the ref is from Should add in the other big difficulty with this sort of analysis - our sport plays advantage. So you could concede 5 penalties in a...

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Jaguares v Reds - Buenos Aires Sunday Feb 16 10:00am AEDT

Having watched the highlights again, the Jags lucky that the ref doesn't believe in enforcing Players coming in offside all over the place in breech of that one. And to be fair, it's not a law that many refs ever enforce

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Jaguares v Reds - Buenos Aires Sunday Feb 16 10:00am AEDT

How many second halves have the Reds won over the last couple of years? They always seem to be right in it or even ahead at half time and then fade off.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I reckon we all need a bit of a reality check as to what FTA is likely to look at. Remembering that the lowest rating Saturday night Channel 10 has ever had in their history was a Wallaby v Argie game. And based on Fox ratings, that's likely to be 4 to 5 times more popular than any Super rugby...
