So earlier is this thread there were a number of comments re Scott Johnson's tenure I take it most people now think he has done enough to hang around to at least February?

    Wallabies 2020

It is unfortunate that probably the best young 10 we could have will stay in England following a different path (Louis Lynagh)

Yeah, I see that as a potential starting point. I expect one or two to be replaced as the season goes on But as to a "strike winger", it is nice to have but I want to see the team manipulating defenses instead of hoping a winger can beat 8 to score a miracle try Like this one @ 1.12 move...

That is more than enough evidence of intent for this joint

My concern with KB (Kurtley Beale)'s @ 10 is when he overplays his hand, gets lateral trying to run around teams, he needs options. He needs a couple of "running backs" who he can hand off to, let them get over the advantage line and look for opportunities with the next plays

    Waratahs 2020

That is the talk, if so, you build the backs around him and realistically he has been 60% a 10 for the last couple of years as the second play maker Stick Hunt at 15 and he can drop in to do the defensive heavy lifting off set piece. It could work - most sides hide their 10 to some extent...

    Waratahs 2020

He was an excellent school boys centre who played most of his NRL as an edge backrower (which is essentially a 12) He only got pushed in closer and the Eels depth increased He can be that unit initially there to get over the advantage line to set up the following play I can imagine starting...

Wouldn't it be best to judge any change by their actions in those roles? JON on the board would not be an outrageous choice - I would rather some actual rugby management experience on the thing and 14 years as CEO gives him that, but I would prefer to see someone like David Gallop take the role...

That could have been about RWC and robbo as LHP back up, ahh buggered if I know

    Waratahs 2020

I would have thought the opposite, the year Robinson broke through in Super Rugby was playing at THP and did really well. He seemed to be bumped the LHP once Kepu got back on his feet

It is the disease of the 4 year RWC cycle and providing a load of test players, you lose a shed load of test experience the year of. Just be thankful we have a load of kids coming through that provide some quality and hope

Rubbish, Faulkner is not is in the same "ballpark" as Kepu, Faulker is a Super Rugby squadie, Kepu is a 100 test wallaby

    Australian Rugby / RA

Nah, RA's terrible contract negotiations (he signed a new contract with nothing specific about this stuff (they aren't allowed to put performance "penalties" into player contract but they could have made a good chunk his wage a bonus contingent on him keeping religious beliefs to himself)). Add...

Castle confirmed this was in the end an insurance claim, so RA paid the excess, went through the court day bullshit while their insurance company's solicitors and actuaries negotiated a commercial number to make it go away
