    Australia v England

It would cause an international incident to blame dodgy food in Padua. ;) Cheika coached there for a year, surely he'd know the best restaurants? :D
  2. Quick Hands

    Australia v England

I find it a little odd that they played at all against Italy if this is correct. Foley in particular could have at the very least started on the bench, with Beale at 12 and Foley on to come on if he was needed. Ditto Folau with DHP starting at fullback. EJ (Eddie Jones) revelling in the mind games - it's...

    Australia v England

At least our boys will be more familiar with the random penalty generator than England will be. :) Referee Jaco Peyper (South Africa) Assistant 1 Glen Jackson (New Zealand) Assistant 2 Alexandre Ruiz (France) TMO Marius Jonker (South Africa)

    Australia v England

All the NH teams do what they do well. They play well to their strengths and England have plenty of firepower in attack too. I like your optimism, but we're going to need to play out of our skins.
  5. Quick Hands

    Australia v England

The only hope we have in this game is the fact that the Wallaby players give full commitment in every match. In all the core skills of the game and tactically, we come second.
  6. Quick Hands

    Australia v England

Hooper expends a huge amount of energy covering for the backs. If you remember it was Hooper who stopped us going down 0-7 early against Italy by making a tackle in the corner (and the guy's foot just hit the touchline before the ball was grounded) Honestly, I cringe whenever I see Foley...
  7. Quick Hands

    Australia v England

In these tight, hard contests at the top level, it's very difficult to win without a solid tactical kicking game - particularly when exiting the 22. Employing the run at all costs plan has been proven to be unsucessful at this level - the All Blacks recognise this and judiciously use long kicks...
  8. Quick Hands

    Wallabies v Italy

Tactical kicking in Australian rugby has atrophied to the point where we just bang it down the field and hope the opposition knocks on or makes an error.

    All Blacks Northern Tour 2018

Although I think that the good ship SS All Black is still on the right course. This is a mere storm at sea which has made a few people sea sick. Try being on the SS Wallaby, it's in a tempest without a compass and all hands are at lifeboat stations.

Brad Gill moving to Cranbrook employment-wise and will coach the 1sts there in 2019.

Schmidt has the Irish doing the basics as well as any team in the world. But he's also got them doing some creative things at speed. I don't think people have given Ireland enough credit for the try they scored. It's very difficult to score from a blind side move straight from a lineout like...

    Wallabies v Italy

Foley just shouldn't play 12. If he's in the side it's at 10 and at 10 only.
  14. Quick Hands

    Wallabies v Italy

As opposed to a Foley clearing kick which bobbled straight down the middle of the field in the first half.
  15. Quick Hands

    Wallabies v Italy

Agree. I've watched 4 test matches this morning and we do tactical kicking worse that any team.
  16. Quick Hands

    Wallabies v Italy

As opposed to the creativity in the Wales game when we didn't look like scoring? With respect KOB, you're the one with the goggles on. :)
  17. Quick Hands

    Wallabies v Italy

Not really Firstly, that wasn't what the referee blew penalty was for. Secondly, it's far from clear at the point that the lineout ends whether he is inside the 15, on the 15 or beyond it. The lineout ends in this case when the jumper touches the ball because he fails to make a clean catch...

    Wallabies v Italy

To'omua went well at 10. Foley should never play 12 at international level again. Ever. Gordon a much better option that Phipps. Referee was ordinary, but then again so were both teams. Glad I got up early and watched NZ v Ireland before sitting through this tripe.
  19. Quick Hands

    All Blacks Northern Tour 2018

The weirdest thing was with Ireland in possession and less than a minute to go that the Irish replacement scrum half thought it was a good time for a box kick. Gave the All Blacks one last shot at scoring a late try.
  20. Quick Hands

    All Blacks Northern Tour 2018

The All Blacks are used to playing the Wallabies.;)
