Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Rats played a couple of Fri night games last year.and have played 5.30 games semi regularly over the past few years. Pretty sure Norths played a few fi nights as well last year. scheduling changes is just fiddling at the edges. Many marketing people believe it's important to maintain a specific...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

How does separating the 1's from the rest of the club improve the standard? How long until this 'new high quality rugby' translates into commercial success? Bearing in mind that both the Rats and Marlins outdraw the Rays, and SS telecasts on the b channel draw more viewers than NRC and many...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

You still haven't answered the question, 'where will the reserves come from' If I'm a 3rd grader and you tell me that for my $400 rego, and as a reward for training hard all summer I get to be a fresh reserve for 2's. I'd say you're dreaming. And if I'm scheduled to play 3's at Manly 2pm...

^^^^^just another example of zero strategy in recruitment. we don't need to upgrade our finishers, it's ball playing, where we are weak.

    Questions for James O'Connor

Hmm,where to next? He was very impressive in his previous short stint with West Harbour, maybe they'll have him back?

    Questions for James O'Connor

My problem with him,is that I don't think he's ever acknowledged/accepted that he's ever stuffed up. I'm pretty sure that right now, he has no regrets. No Aussie franchise wants him? No prob I'll go to France and double my income. Gets arrested for coke? Hmm everyone does it, I was just...

I'm pretty sure it's artificial. Let's see how it pans out before we make it the universal surface..

I have zero knowledge of the financing over there. But I assume that the settlers intention in establishing a stand alone trust, and not directly gifting the land to the club, was to insulate the asset from possible trading risks of the Rugby club. I would be surprised if the trust provided any...

    Round 1 2017 Rebels v Blues

I don't disagree with you. But it seems that you and I are invisible to the marketing people. Maybe they think we'll go regardless. But I have no doubt it's the kids that all of the codes are are spending all their efforts to attract to game days. we might fund the kids, but we don't choose what...

    Round 1 2017 Rebels v Blues

^^^So true! I recall being dragged out to Penriff a few years ago for an NRL game. I watched with interest a team of girls doing surveys. They had a laser focus on the 12-18 age group. Match day atmosphere is designed to meet their requirements not 40+ adults.

    Waratahs 2017

Yeah, as mentioned previously, this is his fourth year, but he has now had 5 pre seasons with the Tahs. So yeah, he's relatively young, but he's been training at super level for such a long period of time, it's unlikely he's about to have a breakout year like many are tipping with Simone.

If winning the catchpole is evidence of being Super standard, then sign multiple winner & perennial finalist Hamish Angus. Kellaways poor form is hardly a good argument that Horwitz will excel at this level. 2012/13/14/15/16/17 would be 6 seasons :) It would appear, however this is his 4th year...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

but the continuous improvement is supposed to be with their enrolled kids. You're not improving anything if you bus in a load of mercenaries to fight your battles. It's a great life lesson for the kids to learn that if you do the wrong thing, deny the undeniable, there are often no repercussions.

Not only don't you know what's going on down there. You don't understand who is in charge. Since you are so critical of Pappy, please explain to me,what are his responsibilities ?

    Australian Rugby / RA

The better Force players will either go O/S or squeeze out young talent in other franchises. Neither advance the interests of the game in Australia.
