Curious how you have made this assessment about Gordon? He has been captain for all of one game and was quite good for the 60 minutes he was on the field. He's also been captain of successful Sydney Uni sides and from all accounts is quite widely respected in NSW rugby.

Not sure plight of the ABs at World Cups is quite comparable to the horrendous state of rugby in NSW (ABs not winning was realistically more bad luck than systemic failures) but Davis has had his shot and there needs to be some level of accountability.

It's by far the biggest media and commercial market in Australia - a poorly performing Waratahs erodes most of the publicity of the sport.

Some of his points were warranted/ excusable in such an excited state but his hatred for Swinton is not rational. Valetini is yet to justify his hype and has never dominated games to the extent that Swinton did in a couple of the games last year. Even with the afro, Valetini never stands out...

One more thing- you guys keep talking about ‘lack of structure’ when the reality is that up-tempo expansive rugby is the way that they are coached to play. Did you hear the Thorn interview at halftime- the way they play is their ‘structure’.

I agree with basically all of this but I don’t think rugby fans (in this country) should be criticising the intent to play rugby. Criticise the execution and criticise the players for not developing their skills and to work harder at training. Don’t criticise the quick tap, criticise the shit...

Fuck some of you lot are boring - the reds tried to play an uptempo and expansive game but simply did not execute on the night. The inability to execute was either bad luck or underdeveloped skills - with the truth somewhere in the middle as they've obviously played skilled rugby in the past...

It was a bloody average stop-start game. For all this ‘praise’ of playing smart, no team should should be rewarded for not even attempting to play any rugby. We are lucky that one wasn’t televised on free to air.

Horton was strong last year and has been consistently good in the Shute Shield (stood out more than Ed Craig btw). He had a bad game- it happens.

He made two quick taps from memory: one was very early in the game inside our half and nearly resulted in a clean line break from Perese, and the other was the quick tap where he was held up over the line from one player in an offside position. I don't think any of these were glaringly poor...

The misreads in defence were because we had a completely new 10/12 combination, who have probably never even trained together in those positions (10- Edmund, 12 - Harrison), any vaguely experience inside centre (e.g. Moeroa) would be an improvement.

I've definitely seen Newsome miss his fair share of tackles - so let's not pretend he's Rob Horne/ AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) in his level of dependency.
