    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

We didn't draw that game because of not taking penalty goals or poor defence- we tied because we failed to show any penetration in attack when we had the ball for more than 30 minutes inside the Argentinian half - probably a reflection of the limitations of our inside backs. With Hodge and...

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

I thought Banks was better than he has been previously- it looked like he added some elements of ball-playing in addition to his general ineffective try to beat the man one on one on the outside. I don’t think Hodge would be too dissimilar tbh- either way you’re not getting a scintillating ball...

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

I’m not too sure about that- the game wasn’t the best advertisement of rugby and wouldn’t retain many neutral viewers.

    Waratahs 2021

It's probably due to not having the funds as opposed to not actually wanting the players (assuming this was the case for Simmons and Hunt).

    Wallabies 2020

I would take him in a heartbeat at the Waratahs as a likely outside- centre option (worst case scenario he would be starting on the wing).

Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

But is he the best 12 in Australia? To'omua provides all the qualities mentioned above with more finesse (and a slightly higher propensity to get injured) and vision.

Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

He's actually quite similar to where Laumape was a couple of years ago; powerful and robust in contact with limitations on his distribution.. It would be great for Australian rugby to actually invest and support/ pressure him develop a broader range of skills like the All Blacks did Laumape.

It's about on par in terms of mediocrity.

Let's see them play consistently well for their Super teams before you make a ridiculous statement like that.

Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

It's still a great luxury to be in a position to have such demands- McKenzie has played plenty of fly-half over the last 3-4 years for his Super/ provincial teams (and generally played pretty well when he has). Hodge has played there sporadically and not very convincingly - he's not even in...

They would start McKenzie who has plenty of experience/ talent and would waltz into the Wallabies 10 position.

Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

The selections pretty much show that the Wallabies can't and won't even try to match the All Blacks by playing expansively. The game plan will be conservative and there's an element of 'hoping' we can remain competitive through box kicks/ up and unders, making our tackles and accruing penalties.

    Bledisloe # 3 - Saturday 31st October, ANZ Stadium

It's called a mismatch and obtaining them is one of the main objectives in attack in rugby... He potentially could have done better but it was very smart play by the ABs- very few front rowers make that tackle.

Koribete is proving to be a bit of a flat track bully- give Wright a turn- he won’t do any worse.

PDST is also more of a 6 than a 7 as is the SA way but that is besides the point. Absolutely agree; if the two were neck and neck you would definitely weigh up the line-out jumping ability, but as it stands we would be a weaker team with Wright on the field than Hooper.

This is where I don't understand BR's absolutely doggedness- no open side breakaway in the world is selected for their line out ability.

Or we could just revert to White, JOC (James O'Connor), Hodge, Kuridrani et al - combinations that have been winning us the big games consistently for years.

Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

He has a tendency to overplay his hand and makes mistakes. If he can temper this- all good.

Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

Have you ever seen Kuridrani pass? Reverting to Kuridrani would be regressive- 13 hasn't been one of the positions where we have been noticeably struggling and Petaia is one of the few players in the back line with ability on-par with the All Blacks. His errors are coachable-- it's up to the...

Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

Agree with most of this bar starting Hodge at 12. I think we should give Simone one more opportunity and hope that he was just overwhelmed by nerves in his debut and it was a one-off. I'd also be inclined drop White from the 23, with either of Gordon/ McDermott to start/ reserve with Paisami and...
