    Where to for Super Rugby?

I was being facetious but the main point was that Super Rugby AU lacked overall quality and on average the standard of rugby was not that high (exceptions being when Brumbies and Reds were involved).

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The results from this weekend really solidified how fucked rugby is in Australia. The truth is that the Australian teams (on average) are not remotely competitive with the NZ ones in terms of team cohesion, skill levels and individual athleticism- partly the result of drawing on such a limited...

Super Rugby-TT: Rd 1 Waratahs v Hurricanes, May 14th, SCG

Donaldson was adequate at but it would be great to have an athlete and footballer as flyhalf- like the prototypes NZ roll out!

TT Rnd 1: Highlanders v Reds

The point is valid and the concept of globalisation/ professionalism generally works everywhere else.. If we were to offer a competitive package, why would a kiwi players not come over?

I don't know how you can argue with the rational and coherent points that are put forward though.

    Waratahs 2022

It's a different story when you don't have the most cash to throw around though. For mine, the 'tahs should be looking at a coach who has experience and success in developing players over time with an emphasis on systems.

    Waratahs 2022

Absolutely - Coleman's success in an amateur competition very much needs to be put into context. His MO has generally been to only go to clubs that are willing to invest heavily (in the squad and Coleman himself) which meant that he generally had a playing squad that was among the top in...

Super Rugby AU Grand Final - Reds v Brumbies - Saturday 8th May 2021

Valetini had a big second half- he was running the ball with confidence and making metres at will - probably the best ball-running performance I've seen from him.

    Waratahs 2021

I do agree with the need for dual play makers but not the notion that the 12 has to be a Matt Giteau- clone; that balance can be achieved through various ways. We currently have a 15 who was touted as a potential long-term fly-half and who does not appear to be a strike runner, so why isn't...

    Waratahs 2021

I think Walton has potential to be fairly well- rounded 12, especially with a robust ball runner outside him (e.g. Perese). He runs solid lines that generally allow him to get over the advantage line (despite his size) and has a decent- short passing game on him. He seems to be one of those...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I think I have an idea why - someone has to pay for it.

    Waratahs 2021

Rapp signed him based on his schoolboy YouTube highlights (and may have been his coach during that period).

SRAU RD 10 - Force v Reds Friday 23rd April HBF Park

He's passing more than ever but a lot of it seems to be early distribution without real intent or actually committing defenders. His defence has been strong (as always) but his attack is still as lackluster as his last few seasons at the Brumbies. For mine, including Kuridrani in the Wallabies...

Super Rugby Rd 10 Waratahs v Rebels

Lauding the strength of a back line based on the wing's ability pick and go is a new one but I like it.

Super Rugby Rd 10 Waratahs v Rebels

Just forget about the backline where there is woefully out of form fly half, an inside centre who can't pass and a halfback playing on the wing...

Super Rugby Rd 10 Waratahs v Rebels

Not sure about so many of these selections and curious if anyone believes they strengthen the team? Is Wessels tanking?

    Waratahs 2022

I agree with this- if someone like Maddocks is being touted as a marquee player (and he was, at least initially) then they definitely have to perform better than just serviceable Super Rugby (AU!) players.

    Wallabies 2021

I think that will be pretty close with potential for Mafi/ Folau to replace Kaitau'u, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) for Hosea and Gordon for McDermott.

    Waratahs 2022

Fatprop is probably insinuating that you can get many of the benefits of TN, without the drawbacks that were associated with him, through other strike wingers. Those you listed above are probably off- limits but we should definitely be looking at an athletic outside back!
