Yes, but it's what the AFL promised to get it that many close to NBL were up in arms about.

What I can say on the AFL v Bball issue is that when the NBL had prime time free to air coverage (ie on Channel 10 Saturday night at 7:30) it was the AFL that paid massive overs to get that spot and basically priced the NBL out of the market. The major sponsor for the NBL (Mitsubishi) dropped...

How many NRC games have you attended?

Attending my 2nd Thursday night Rising game tonight.

    Refereeing decisions

HJ, I don't see much advancing on free kicks, that's why players often take a little tap to themselves first before advancing for a bigger punt. On penalty kicks it's a little different.

    Australia v Argentina @ Gold Coast. 3 - 2 - 1's

3 - Phipps 2 - Slipper 1 - McCalman Thought Simmons was strong also. Kepu kept the scrum solid also.

RIP Test Rugby on the Gold Coast

The Wallabies played the Pumas in Perth last year and got a touch over 18,000 at the test match. Melbourne would probably get more, but with AFL finals and Storm usually being in the mix in the NRL, scheduling could be an issue.

Australia Vs Argentina, September 13, Gold Coast

And in those 9 are Italy, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Argentina and a mid-year French side - sides that Australia traditionally defeat far more than lose. As was the case under Deans and even Knuckles, the level of play remains a concern for the Wallabies. The tactics aren't sound and some...

Australia Vs Argentina, September 13, Gold Coast

Agree. Argies just needed to get it out and let the backs play. They were full of confidence in the last 15 minutes and making easy inroads against the Wallaby defence. Pumas lack that edge.

    Argies just blew a try

A sniff they do. Horne losing it after a good Wallaby scrum. OZ defensive line flat and well executes by pumas.

Pumas upped the urgency. They sniff an opportunity here.

Lovely ball from Phipps. So often you don't see that pass go in front of a player running hard on the outside. Congrats Betham on his maiden try.

All Blacks vs Springbokke @ Wellington

I'll be happy if tomorrow night is half the test match of that one. Both sides played quality rugby.

What for? to hold tackle bags.... Handy player and I actually was a fan. It wasn't great that he left OZ so young, but I don't think he is the type of player you are after right now.

Some players are just more versatile than others and their game evolves. But as someone else inferred, selections some times come down to trade offs on who's available for what position. A few years back AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) was the 2nd best fullback in the squad, so when the first choice goes down injured...

He's hijacked "your" team has he? That's really funny.

If the ABs lose the 'mood of the electorate' will go something like this: No Carter, no Kaino, no Whitelock, no Messam, ABs were missing grunt; Sure there will be the regular talk back stuff, but then come Sunday afternoon people will get over it as they think that we haven't been going to bad...

Highlander or OZT - if I want to attend will I need to pre-purchase or just rock up to the gate?

There's no games next week though, so election will have clear air.
