How does the NRL bookings work? broncos v Penrtith at Suncorp that Friday night. Maybe NRL had the stadium booked for Fri and Sat night before they locked in Fri?

Georgia is flying into Australia for one game after travelling from Japan (game on the 13/7), and then flying straight out again back to Europe for club games. I suspect being based in Sydney was done for their logistics.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

For what it's worth, RA declared nearly $30m for "Player payments, RUPA and team costs" in the last financial statement. We don't know what the Rebels spent as they don't publish their reports. The Reds declared $9.5m for "Reds Team expenses" which doesn't seem like it would be enough to cover...

    Aussie Player Exodus

For the NRL - it's the payments outside of the salary cap. Manu is a big name, but isn't a big enough name to get the really big league dollars that Cleary etc can attract.

I'm no expert and I'd say it's unlikely that would happen for a not for profit where no-one has made a fortune, but directors being given the tax bill personally is an option the ATO has

They could personally be liable for the unpaid tax payments. https://www.ato.gov.au/businesses-and-organisations/hiring-and-paying-your-workers/engaging-a-worker/in-detail/director-penalty-regime

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Short answer is we can't tell using ratings info. Longer answer:- FTA Super Rugby almost never make the Top 20 multi-channel ratings list on a Saturday. It probably hasn't made things worse, and surely there are people watching that would not have Stan, but it's too few to trouble the scorers. If we...

Reds supporter. Live in Sydney now days but we actually went to the same school. I was there somewhat before you though

We are really talking about promoting Thorn to Director of Rugby? Anyone familiar with the Dilbert Principle? Reds should be looking for a competent experienced head coach, getting Thorn back to an assistant coach role where he should have been for the whole time while he learns how to be a pro...

    Hometown Refs

As it turned out, the Rebels got a yellow for repeated infringements almost immediately once play was done near their try line. So the ref remembered

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

The 6N organisers are not allowing joint bids this time around. A joint bid between ITV and the BBC was enough to outbid Sky last time, but it looks as though they are structuring the bids this time around to make sure there's only one possible winner. At the moment ITV screens all the home...

Looking at past post world cup years, there's going to be lots of new blood 2008 - 12 debuts 2012 - 13 debuts 2016 - 13 debuts

    Highlanders v Rebels, RD 5 - 28th Feb

Yeah, he was way offside from the lineout a couple of phases before the card, ref was playing advantage. Came on the back of 3 or 4 penalty advantages that the ref warned the Rebels about when the Highlanders scored the previous try

    Reds 2020

Counting it up, I have 5 coaches first winning in their first year 5 first winning in their second Eddie Jones made gf in 3rd and won in 4th Meyer SF in 2 & 3 and won in 4th And Jamie Joseph the big outlier who won in his 5th year. There is still hope! To put it another way, just once in...

    Reds 2020

Can I change my card to McQueen wasn't the Brumbies coach in 98 & 99? And he made the final in year 2 (there's that ancient history!) Anyway, my theory isn't that good coaches will automatically win in year 1 and 2. It's that there's probably not much point expecting too much from a coach...

    Reds 2020

I'll play the ancient history card on that one. Made a final in year 1 though

    Reds 2020

Sure, but that's not an argument for sticking with Phil Mooney or Michael Foley.

    Reds 2020

Reds are terrible at picking head coaches. Pretty clearly. Seems a really easy fix to me #1 criteria - proven success as a head coach with full time men's professional 15 club or franchise competition.
