    Refereeing decisions

So far it seems to be NZ controlling WR (World Rugby) for the red card change, and Australia controlling WR (World Rugby) for the scrum FK change

    Round 5 : Force v Reds - Perth

Stupid Magic Round stuffing up stats and making me look like an idiot......

    Round 5 : Force v Reds - Perth

Think a game in 2023 may have slipped your mind Wilson (edit - it hadn't) The Force have the best record against the Reds compared to any other Australian team Reds - Played 25 won 10 Tahs - Played 25 won 8 Rebels - Played 22 won 7 Brumbies - Played 27, won 5 Although the Reds have put 184...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

There was a routine ASIC meeting scheduled for Monday where these sort of things would be dealt with officially. Is it just how it's done? Send in the big dogs to sort it out at the start, and then lower cost option to see it through.

    Australian Rugby / RA

I'm not going to say I have fully thought it through, but it's covered by the existing law anyway isn't it?

    Australian Rugby / RA

I've always thought it pretty ironic that the penalty for wasting time in a ruck ("use it"), is a scrum to the opposition which inevitably takes 90s to 2 mins to resolve. The "Use it" call should be 3 seconds, the turnover penalty should be a free kick with no scrum option, and it should happen...

    Refereeing decisions

Looking forward to weeks of online discourse explaining how these law changes are proof that Australia somehow controls WR (World Rugby)

    Australian Rugby / RA

They should go the other way, and allow marks anywhere on the field. Introduce a bit of risk into the kick option

Super Rugby 2024: NZ, Drua & Moana matches

I think officially, it's not a tackle specific school "The entry point for the offence was 4 weeks (assessed as mid range in line with World Rugby’s mandate). The Player was given a discount for entering an early guilty plea (and other relevant mitigating factors) reducing the suspension from...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Sounds like this is just the press writing an angle on the story I mean if he relocated the month of December before Christmas, and submitted his relocation fee first week back on deck in January, that would both fit the story, and be pretty reasonable

Super Rugby 2024: NZ, Drua & Moana matches

One of life's mysteries. Why is mid-range for foul play under 9.13 = 6 weeks? While foul play under 9.20b is = 4 weeks? Getting smashed in the head must be more dangerous if you are carrying a ball

What's a Super Rugby plyer match fee worth? Presumably, if he doesn't play too many games he will be costing himself more than the initial $7k

    Ballymore Redevelopment

By turf, I meant an artificial surface. Seems to be what the FIH called their surface

    Ballymore Redevelopment

Anyone know what they have to do to get the surface to Olympic hockey turf standard? Is it a concrete slab underneath etc? And how long before the games does it need to be ready?

    Aussie Player Exodus

How do Leinster have money? Basically because the Six Nations is a money making machine, through ticket sales and broadcast rights. The IRFU makes nearly $70m more than RA every year, and has equity of 220m euro. And a huge portion of that is due to six nations

    Proposed Nations Championship

Hopefully we can get that government funding for Ballymore, Leichardt Oval, Bruce and boutique ones in Perth and Melbourne. If we are hosting regular test match tours with Japan, Argentina, Fiji and USA we are going to need smaller stadiums than the ones we play in currently.

    2024 Six Nations

So it does look like we are getting these guys on Stan for France v England With Mr Morris being the unlistenable one

    2024 Six Nations

I lasted about 5 mins on Sunday morning for England France. He is truly awful whoever he is. Sounds like I missed a pretty good game too, but wasn't going to sit through him to get there

    Proposed Nations Championship

Whatever they decide, it's going to be hard to fit it all in, and will probably require additional release windows. Will South Africa be able to put out there best team in the absence of that?

    Proposed Nations Championship

Dan, this may be a controversial view, but I don't think the average Australian rugby union fan has quite the same romantic view of tours as the average NZ or SA fan. Maybe because we stopped playing South Africa a decade earlier than NZ, or maybe because it just hasn't been as competitive...
