    RWC - New Zealand v France - 24th September

I agree, rugby is broken when the refs style impacts the outcome. I just want to see teams win because they played better rugby, not because they played the ref better. And thats not at all a crack at kiwi's because most of the time they do play better rugby

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

So has anyone officially been sent home yet. From what I can peice together, McCabe is gone, whilst Palu, Horne and Fainga'a will sit out this weekend and if they dont improve they will be on the plane home as well. If I was coach I'd probably wing it this weekend with barnes/AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) combo (with no...

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

Tapuai will not start at outside centre in a world cup game. He's a talent yet unproven inside centre, they will find someone else to slot in at outside.

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

First change will be McCabe for a flanker. If someone else is injured they will bring in lachy turner surely. I'd focus on Combinations and resting players. Cooper-Barnes to start. Sharpe, Slipper, Mitchell, Higgers need a game. Might as well play phipps since we bought him over.

    RWC Wallabies v USA - 23 September

For the russia game I think the team needs to work on its combinations, specifically Cooper-Barnes, and the back 3 of beale-shmoo and someone else.

I honestly dont care what the Irish think of us. They beat us, congrats, but I can't wait till we play them again.

    RWC Wallabies v USA - 23 September

All to the best to McCabe and especially ant. Did not look good at all, wish him all the best.

    RWC Wallabies v USA - 23 September

I wonder if we will ever see: 9.Genia 10. Cooper 11. Digby 12. Horne 13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 14. Shmoo 15. Beale Burgess and JOC (James O'Connor) on the bench. (and either Barnes, Fainga'a or McCabe if we play the 4/3) Size, speed, creativity and balance, only problem is goal kicking. It could fail horribly but it would be...

RWC 2011 - Pool D - Fiji, Namibia, Wales, South Africa, Samoa

I still like the look of the namibian fullback botha. Nice feet and a turn of pace, and that tackle on beast near the end was just heroic.

Cooper - Good or Great rugby player - discuss.

Thanks for the article it was a good read. Link really is always one step ahead when it comes to game plan. I admire the way he tailors his game-plan to the players he has the their capabilities, but he does it in a way that doesn't restrict the team to a certain style of play week-in week-out...

    Scrum Talk

Any chance you could move all the posts from the old thread, a few of them seemed to disappear with the merge. Cheers The "How good is our scrum" thread? Actually I didn't change it at all, except that I merged the new thread into it and just changed the name. I also merged a thread on...

Cooper - Good or Great rugby player - discuss.

I think the way the backline is now, O'Connor could be used at 12 but acting as the '10' of the second wave of attack. By that I mean forwards get some quickball, quade sweeps round the ruck launches the attack on one side, then next phase quade sets up like hes going to do it again but just...

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

I'd love to see digby, shmoo or ant Fainga'a, at 7. They could use them more as ball runners and just give them a license to roam. All 3 are pretty decent at the breakdown, not international 7 level, but apart from pocock who is?

Kiwi hate vibe is marring World Cup

In defence of the kiwi's, at least they can serve stubbies and cans at games without fear of them being used for violent purposes. Wish we could do that in Australia instead of watered down mid strength in a shitty plasic cup that breaks mid drink.

    RWC Wallabies v USA - 23 September

I actually like horne at 12. I wrote about how I would have tried it way back last year some time. Will be interesting to see how it goes, he was used as a decoy runner to much in the test he played last year, and didn't really go roaming the way our wingers do, but then again maybe he wasn't...

Someone close to the wallabies should read them that letter pre quarter final. All the motivation you need.

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

Everyone agrees mate. But where we differ is that I think with the right coaching and team culture we can be (and in the past have been), the best. Its just as possible now as it was in 91 or 99, the cattle are there, the framework for success is not.

John O'Neil Must Have Been Misquoted

I cant answer for athilnaur, but I have similar feelings so i might have a crack. I preface this by saying that I haven't been around as long as some on here so I may be a bit of the mark, but in my mind: Australia rugby, for all its failings, has its own unique and sacred wallabies culture...

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

How is the underarm incident any worse than commiting professional fouls on your own try line in the dying moments of a bledisode match? Cynical play is cynical play and nz is just as if not more guilty than most, especially when if comes to rugby.

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

I also dont understand the hate directed in the nz media towards the australian team. I can understand a little bit here and there which can be put down to rivalry, and im as guilty as anyone of this. But all this bullshit about quade cooper as an enemy of the state just reflects badly on the...
