Hodge should be there first as a contender for 15 and then as a bench utility back. He was good last week. Safe, big boot and takes excellent options. Maddocks and Banks are inconsistent and DHP is injured. Maddocks has a chance to jump ahead if he continues his good form.

Hooper, Wilson, Wright, Naisarani and probably a few others will not stop or slow down until the final whistle. I doubt that work rate is going to be an issue with this years back row.

Yes, if JOC (James O'Connor) and a To'omua start then maybe there is good reason to include Hodge on the bench to adequately cover 12-15, and he has that big cannon boot and can kick goals. We forget but he is also still pretty young.
