    QLD Premier Rugby 2016

I think it's just a really difficult thing to do - go back to back - that's why you don't see it often in any of the football codes. Why? I think it's because in order to win a premiership you need a bit of luck to fall your way - e.g. Injuries, bounce if the ball, etc and sometimes those...

Important dates: Last day of U20RWC is 25/6/16; Last round of Super Rugby is 15-17 July; Last round of QPR is 16/7/16. It will be interesting to see which clubs roll the dice with playing their Reds in the QPR finals - sometimes having guys come into settled sides can be fools gold!!!

    QLD Premier Rugby 2016

I think the impact on clubs missing their Under 20s stars is more significant than clubs missing their regular Reds game day squad players. For example Bros won't see much of the Thor until about the end of June, Easts would love Mack Mason back before then, etc. I don't know how the end of...

I TGB I think it will be played at Kenmore - I think the goal posts are down at Sylvan Rd.

Would it be fair to install Uni & Souths as favourites for the 2016 Hospital Cup? My 2016 predictions: Uni Souths Easts Sunnybank Bond Wests Bros Norths GPS But nice trial form for Bond, Norths & Wests. I think Souths will find it hard to back up, fine side in 2015 but they had plenty that...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2016

Wests v Easts trial at Bottomley Park was a keenly fort encounter in which Easts prevailed 26-17 (4 tries to 3). Easts scored the sealer on fulltime. Both sides would be reasonably happy given that both sides were down a few regular Prem starters. Easts scrum looked effective, but both sides...

Other Bulldogs would know more about the time frame but it's all system go with the development which is really exciting for the club.

Filth let's just leave judgement on the Dogs until they've played a few comp games but another trial win v Easts this week would be nice. Good luck to Souths in the ACC.

It's a shame that no one plays a trial at Kawana - it's a wonderful set up there.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2016

Trials this Saturday: Souths v Wests; Bros v Uni; Bond v Easts. What are the other clubs up to? I think Wests play Easts the following weekend.

I think Moses Rauluni was the Colts coach at Easts a few years back and has been involved in a Coaching business who work with schools of recent times - I could be wrong but he's a pretty loyal Easts man who would find it very difficult to be involved at the Yeronga Nest.

Samking can we let the Bulldogs fly under the radar in the earlier rounds - I think other teams under estimating them will be their best asset early doors. The element of surprise is a wonderful thing.

On this front I believe that Dalgleish (Uni) could be one of the best #10s in the comp over the next year or two - he's played Aust 20s, NRC, was in the Uni premiership side of 2014(?), seems to be level headed and has a good all round game - I think he could be the key to Uni in 2016. Another...

I thought Adam Deck went to NZ in 2015? Nelic do you know about his movements for 2016? Filth has Fowler gone to the Rebels?
  16. Bulldog

    QLD Premier Rugby 2016

Filth my apologies my views were based upon Brothers not having Fowler (2015 #9 now at the Rebels??) and Greene missing much of the season due to Reds duties but Grasso & Tuttle are handy replacements. Mind you I do believe that Grasso's best years are behind him. I thought his best years were...

Easts may also have issues with an inexperienced halves pairing.
  18. Bulldog

    QLD Premier Rugby 2016

Any early top 4 predictions? Souths, Easts, Bond, Wests. Clearly this relies upon both Uni & Sunnybank having off years but sometimes this happens. It also relies upon Bros struggling in the halves without their 2015 pairing for most of the season, and GPS rebuilding under Dammers.

Didn't Sean McMahon play for GPS in the 2013 finals?

I know it's outside this thread but what are people's thoughts on Quade making the Olympics 7s? How many Souths Magpies will be at the Olympics - Pama Fou, Stanard, Quade. That would be a significant representation for one club - well done Souths.
