Yeah, at least then the forwards would have a chance to recover the ball when it comes flying out of his arms the moment an opposition defender gives him a mean look.

Tomane hasn't gotten a lot of space in his Wallabies games but yeah, can concur from watching him play for the Brumbies over the years that he has genuine toe - probably faster than JOC (James O'Connor) or Speight in a dead sprint. I'd love to see 2012-13 Tomane make some appearances and bump a few blokes off...

They wouldn't play like that against the ABs - Schmidt is a horses-for-courses coach. He also does his research, and knows that just about everyone else on the Wallaby roster aside from Izzy ranges from questionable to terrible under the high ball.

If Beale started at 15 today we would have been fucking slaughtered. He is anything but reliable under the high ball.

Suggesting the squad has gone backwards is one thing (notice how I never addressed that in my post). Using the W/L record of the two coaches as some basis for comparison to drive your argument that they haven't regressed is fundamentally flawed to a spectacular degree. We need more games...

Agreed - it was the reference to W/L record as if that means anything at all in this situation that bothered me.

How many times have the Wallabies played the Boks and ABs under Cheika, again? Oh..right I have faith Cheika will come good but referencing the W/L record under Link when he had to coach through TRC and had much more success on his own EOYT is just fucking stupid, mate.

Forwards aren't doing the best job of sealing our attacking rucks, lots of bodies at angles or just sideways (Fainga'a in particular has done this a few times now) instead of shoulders forward, making it much easier for the Irish to put pressure on Phipps.

Huh, so how about that meters made and carries stat, Qwerty?

After losing the territory battle about a dozen times beforehand

Lack of depth at 6 is now glaringly obvious - someone get Fardy on some HGH immediately

With To'omua returning more of the kicks now they have to, it was working well because if Foley is the one returning the kick Australia were only going to be losing territory. Nothing personally against Bernard but he just doesn't get much distance on his kicks out of hand.

    Ireland v Australia

Because they know our only plan is to kick it back when we're losing 15m+ on every exchange.

My two favorite international sides, one by blood and one by what can only be described as fate, going head to head - this is easily my favorite fixture of the test season each year. Not much beats an excuse to burn some long distance minutes giving the cousins an earful of shit, either...

    Ireland v Australia

Oh, so you think you can just have children during TEST SEASON? I'll be writing the ARU about you. Friggin part-timers... If we don't show a lot more structure than last week Ireland are going to turn us inside out. They're not England, they can kick us to death but they are going to have a...

Was I the only one who read Brumbierunner's comment re: Cheika, Skelton and the set piece as a commentary on Skelton's selection as a result of Cheika not placing heavy emphasis on the set piece, and not a jab at Cheika as a set piece coach (which he's not)?

I had the dis/pleasure (really can't decide because it was a great match for the Wobs - but a stinging loss) of finding some time to re-watch Bledisloe 3 last night. A couple of the guys had quite good games on the night but Saia was just a demon at the rucks - hitting some of the breakdowns...

    Reds 2015

Money - you'd have to think. Just the Reds hedging their bet on the two. There's a lot of time, and training between now and February.

    Reds 2015

At the same time I'd like to see this type of play (particularly holding back at the ruck - All Blacks have mastered this one) punished far, far more severely than it currently is. As it is the worst case scenario for the playing initially breaking the laws of the gaming and ultimately ruining...

    Reds 2015

It was after 65+ minutes of getting played off the ball. If it was a Super Rugby match someone from Spirit would have caught a card for it at that point. No need for the condescending tone.
