    Waratahs 2015

Tala Gray, Dave Dennis and Pete Betham seem to be the main candidates to miss the start of the season. Dave Dennis told me last week that he could miss the first week. Tala Gray and Peter Betham are just training on the sidelines with individual training. Beale was out yesterday and Carraro...

    Waratahs 2015

Betham wasn't running on the field with the others yesterday but he was "running" held back by a trainer to get his leg movements right. He looks to be in the same level as Dennis was a month ago - but they were different injuries; so who really knows? .

    Waratahs 2015

Paddy Ryan isn't there either as I write this so that makes 36 which was the number I was trying to reconcile to if both Dempsey and Clunies-Ross were in. So 36 is the number apparently though there is a dispensation to add a Japanese qualified player if I recall correctly. .

    Waratahs 2015

So - it is confirmed Auvasa Faleli'i, Jack Dempsey and Henry Clunies-Ross, are in, my snout was right.

    Waratahs 2015

Gold Nugget No lee Grant we don't know each other .seemsthis forum is about blowing wind up certain favourites the choosing few rear . Can't have an opinion ? You miss the point, I fear deliberately. As I said: It's not the opinion but the manner you express it that I question. We...

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

^^^^^^^^ Not really. What's interesting is that the Waratahs finished their session and then the U20s started and did more or less the same programme with the individual contests and the group games they were playing. One message makes sense. Geez I didn't realise how big prop Francis...

Didn't notice him yesterday but I'll have to check my photos. .

    Waratahs 2015

He looks pretty fit and was smashing them at one hit-out I saw. Will Skelton looks a bit trimmer - he came back early and the trainers flogged him. Cliff Palu looks raring to go and very fit. Pete Betham is the problem - he is not training. I always forget to ask what his injury is but he had...

    Waratahs 2015

This is Cheika's third year and he has invited no-name ex-league players to train FOC each year—some at the instigation of their clubs to help with their transition. Elijah Niko, Ryan Dalziel and James Cunningham come to mind. There is nothing unusual about Eni Folau being in the training...

    Waratahs 2015

There would be few who have that opinion about Dempsey - but that is neither here nor there because we all have different assessments about players and different rugby issues. We wouldn't have a forum it we all thought the same. It is your dismissive, jeering manner which we find in...

    Waratahs 2015

It will be interesting. Latu's problem is that he throws too shallow, like a darts player. That is easy meat for a team who have a second row of Whitelock and Romano, for example, in their lineout, because all they have to do is to get up at the right time if the intended catcher is behind...

    Waratahs 2015

Those 31 are in, although I don't recall that an announcement was made about Mike Ala'alatoa or Hugh Roach. I don't recall that Andrew Kellaway was officially announced either but he is in. Sam Lousi was announced officially. That would make 33. Auvasa Faleli'i will be in as the third...

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

Gilly is an outstanding coaching prospect and hopefully it won't be too long before he gets involved in senior coaching. He was highly regarded at TGS also. .

    Waratahs 2016

He's got some goodies, that's for sure, but I can never remember them. The thing is they are pithy and easy to remember for the players. Some of his comments to the young blokes from the Under 20s who mixed in with the Tahs in a hit-out recently were to the point but don't bear repeating in a...

    Waratahs 2016

Oops - that's embarrassing since I already wrote in it, but I plead a senior moment. The Waratahs have been fortunate in not losing too many good players for 2015 but I hope the chickens don't come home to roost in 2016. With AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) leaving at the end of the season we can ill-afford to lose...

I have deleted my post above giving the U20 trial game details because they have to be wrong ……. …… and Monty Python was right about the date of the National Under 20 Championships. .
