It doesn't look right does it?? Lke a cow playing a trombone. .
  2. Lee Grant

    France v Australia

He didn't set the world on fire did he? Dropping him was easier but Cheika gave him a second chance. Good for him. .

    France v Australia

One of our best players for sure and let's hope he stays healthy and in form. Our locks have been poor and Carter has disappointed me after his fine debut. Who would have thought not long ago that our starting props would be better than our starting locks? And Simmo, who is retained, gave...

    France v Australia

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) has played 100+ tests and folks are still debating if he's any good by suggesting that he should be dropped. When he retires the myth of his poor play will be continued by the same people. But I honestly think that this guy and that is better they might say - but they've been saying it...

    Brumbies 2015

Good young second rower. Played for CHS and Combined States in 2012 and for Norths Colts in Sydney in 2013 and was highly rated by the club. Was in the NSW Under 20s selection games this year but damaged his ACL. .

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 14/15

There was a show on Ben Mowen on Eurosports and how he's getting on at Montpellier. There's a replay at 8pm tonight (Thursday 13/11), if anybody is interested - there's some good bits in it. Just as well they filmed it before their game against Brive last weekend - he had a shocker, though...

Yeah I remember him - he was one of the senior boys when I started. .

    Ireland vs Springbokke @ Aviva

If you're talking about not making any contact at all as Ireland did sometimes the logic is clear. To have a maul you have to have one defender (at least) engaged with two attackers (at least) otherwise there is no maul. So if the lineout catcher lands with the ball and gets contacted by a...

All of you - please stop playing the man or take a hike for a few weeks. Thank you. .

    Brumbies 2015

I was one of them because he was chosen as a back and I had only seen him as a backrower at school and had not seen him in Colts. Then when I saw him in a warm-up game at Rat Park before they went overseas he didn't change my opinion. I have a different opinion now though. .

Why is Marto employed as a commentator?

As I've mentioned before - Morgan Turinui is a natural when he does Top 14 games.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Agree - I was always for the JGC for the purpose of giving kids outside the big rugby school associations something that they wouldn't otherwise get. In Sydney terminology: I wouldn't be fussed if none of the best players of the GPS or CAS put themselves forward because they already get the...

Why is Marto employed as a commentator?

I actually like them now, though I didn't ten years ago; but I must have factored in a home team announcer filter in my brain since then. They were very good last weekend in Eng v NZ. Miles Harrison must do more homework than any main commentator, though I think that Clarkie is very good, as...

    Official Sean McMahon Bandwagon Thread

Good point - it has always been true that a pack has to be balanced and always will be, and it is well that it is so. Even the locks have to offset each other unless you get two good all-rounders as the All Blacks have in their first choice second row. The complexity of our game and the...

    Wales v Australia

There were some good things in the game and I hope they prevail against France. - an improvement in the effect of the bench in the last quarter of the match. - the way Foley managed the game in the money moments once Oz got the lead with seven minutes to go. He got the MOTM for that, not the...

    Ireland vs Springbokke @ Aviva

They are good operators Ryle Nugent and Donal Lenihan and always enjoyable aren't they? They do a lot of the Ireland games we get here. Miles Harrison and Stuart Barnes were good in the England v NZ match and co-commentator Andy Nichol was excellent in the Scotland game - the others were a...

I don't see Jones as a fellow who plays a heavy game. If you are in the tight five of a test pack you have to be able to perform in the tight - and the other stuff is add-on. At the Super level it's OK and fellows like Sam Wykes and Jones, who pack down on the left hand side of the scrum, have...
