    Shute Shield 2013

Because rugby already has a professional competition (Super Rugby) and there is neither money nor sufficient support for a 2nd one. (Sorry for being off topic. I will let it go now).

    Shute Shield 2013

IMO cutting teams is fraught with danger. For one, it easier to destroy a club than it is to build one. I also think it is a delicate balance at the particpiation level of the game (albeit elite participation) between having greater concentration of players to raise standards versus a wider...

    Shute Shield 2013 Transfers

I think it was Eastwood where he had a strong game and Norths knocked Eastwood out. Uni really targeted him the next week and he missed a number of tackles.

    Reds 2013

Are Toua, McDuling and Anae all in the Reds squad for 2013?

2013 S15 New kids on the block

I am hoping that Peter Betham can take his ITM form into Super Rugby and I would like to see a lot more of CFS at the Reds.

    Brumbies 2013

I am finding it very hard to believe that the Clyde Rathbone story won't be like Ian Thorpe's comeback. I would like to see him be as good as he was but at 31 and having had many bad injuries and several years out of the top level, he just won't be good enough to play Super Rugby.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

Do you mean that Nemani also played in a meaningless game for Fiji? If so, I would have thought a Test Match against the Wallabies is not so meaningless.
  8. Eyes and Ears

    Reds 2013

So who has been selected in the Reds EPS?
  9. Eyes and Ears

    Western Force 2013

interesting question - who are the candidates? perhaps McCalman, Hodgson or Cowan.
  10. Eyes and Ears

    Rebels 2013

    Heath Tessman

    Western Force 2013

So who are the confirmed 28 players then as there has been much speculation as to who has been let go and/or failed medicals?
  12. Eyes and Ears

    Shute Shield 2013

EPL issue that the best players go to 3 or 4 clubs so that they can play Champions League. Then they have more money and can't really be challenged.
  13. Eyes and Ears

    Waratahs 2013

Out of interest, why does Lane have such a great reputation? He has not played Shute Shield, he didn't look like a Super rugby player in 2012 and is now recovering from a major knee injury. I would start Barnes over Lane at 10 without hesitation.

    Waratahs 2013

We can only assume that no one offered him a full contract. So if he was waying up EPS offers, I suspect he is more likely to pick the one that allows him to live in his hometown and play more frequently with his club.

    Shute Shield 2013

Penrith are pretty resilient IMO. They start with a new First Grade team just about every season.
  16. Eyes and Ears

    Rebels 2013

A good squad although perhaps a little thin in props and wingers.
  17. Eyes and Ears

    End of Year Tour 2012

Pretty sure he is out until 2013 - shoulder recon, I thought.
  18. Eyes and Ears

    Waratahs 2013

They are great young players but they are not super rugby ready yet.
  19. Eyes and Ears

    Western Force 2013

Isn't it possible Salesi Manu has a full contract?
  20. Eyes and Ears

    Waratahs 2013

Is anyone else like me and not understand the ratings on Dewet Roos? IMO he is only just First Grade standard and would be too small for elite rugby. Surely if Souths thought he was that good, they wouldn't have signed Grayson Hart as well.
