    Shute Shield 2014

Good point BW -- I'd cleaned it out of my memory bank. It was soooooo bloody annoying. It was hard to speak to the person next to you let alone hear any of the chatter from the field and we couldn't even hear the ground announcer. What's more it didn't seem like anyone was interested in the...

I'd have the same problem. I was thinking about those without wifes or not worried about losing them ;)

    Shute Shield 2014

With the Friday night game and the Norths v Gordon game on Sunday it would have been possible to attend 3 games on the weekend. I know not all clubs have lighting / council permission for night games but maybe this should happen more often????

Unfortunately goal kicking let us down again. Hodge didn't miss a kick for Uni (5 from 5), but Windon was unable to convert either of the 2 tries we scored in the last 15 minutes although, to be fair, they were both from the sideline. I thought we were gone at 23-13, but the Goodbody try (he ran...

Sorry, no inside info, but it will be interesting to see who the 9 is on the bench given Donlan played for the BaBas on Wed and Nugget Helliwell is back from o/s.

Lingering back injury apparently. Might be caused by running too fast ;)

Not sure if this is the final version. I assume we (Randwick members) were emailed it early due to playing tonight.

And he's only 34 -- I wonder if he has 1st grade in his sights? (PS: We're talking about Adam Freier for those not in the loop.)

Interesting name at hooker in 3rds for this week.

I wonder how many Waratahs not in the Wallaby squad will be allowed to play for their clubs while the French tests are being played.

Yes, I believe it's a 7:30pm kick off for 1st grade preceeded by 1st Colts at 5:50pm. Lower grades (Uni #1) and other Colts (St Johns) at normal times on Saturday.

It's an unfortunate fact of life that he stands out due to his red hair. Maybe a blond rinse would help ;) I don't disagree with your comments about Hodgetts, but I thought Walker really lifted against his old club. I think his week by week form has been very good which is part of the reason...

Good call GH, Easts lead 9-6 at half time in 2s and there was nothing between the 2 teams but then the Wicks scored 5 converted tries in the second half with no score from Easts.

Oli Nicholson started in 2nds but didn't finish the game -- another injury or just rested ??? I was surprised that Ethan Ford was moved back to the wing after last week and Norton brought up into 1sts. Norton went OK, but Ford didn't see a lot of the ball. Seemed strange to replace an injured...

Interesting discussion on who should be the captain. I noted on the weekend that every time there was a decision to be made Figg either looked to the coach or was told what to do by Matt Bowman. Not sure he makes any decisions by himself. Maybe he's been selected because he does as he's told ;)

Yes, and tell TC he only has to get through 60 minutes. I think that would do him a big favour ;)

I'm still voting for Tim Wright to be captain. Cool head (by all appearances), experience, died-in-the wool Randwick man whose brother, father and uncle all played for the Wicks.

I noticed Ray Price was there quite early so he would probably have had a few under the belt by half time in firsts. Very courageous of the ABC to conduct a live interview but good fun and amazing that he played at 74kg against the ABs.
