    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Relieved to see Smit in the starting lineup as opposed to BDP. Would not be surprised if Habana and JPP are late scratchings though.

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

Agreed. The disappointment makes the victories all that much sweeter and I love a great "story". We still have the ability that is for sure but the boys need to pull it together. Lets just hope they can do it next weekend and do it in style.

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

Sad but interesting, that of the players that were picked in the original WC squad that were coming back from injury and had little (top level) game time, four of them are not looking so good - Palu, Mitchel, Slipper, Horne. Horne looking like the only one still with a chance of playing a part...

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

Oh shit..!!! Our front row stocks are looking very sketchy - how bout a hail Mary call to Fat Cat? Has he had his surgery yet? So we now have Palu, Mitchell, Slipper heading home presumably, so who is coming the other way? Robinson, Hodgson, Gits, Taps....a new front rower? Surely RD is not...

RWC - G&GR Man of the Match - Wallabies vs Russia

    3. Berrick Barnes - gets the nod as he was out there for the full 80 2. David Pocock - would have been the MOTM had he been out there a little longer 1. Stephen Moore

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

Fair enough, but I expect a little bit more from whoever is going to be fielding those high balls. I just get the sense that he is not 100% committed when he attempting to catch the Gary Owens - kinda like his semi-committed defense at times. He is strong lad and can put a good hit on as we have...

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

I might of been a bit hasty suggesting Cooper needs to warm the pine but they need to seriously consider putting someone else at fullback in defense. Why not have JOC (James O'Connor) defending at fullback and Cooper on the wing for the first phase defense from the set piece?

What is the deal with Slipper, I know he went off but missed the reason? Is it bad?

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

Stick Cooper on the bench and start Barnes at 10. Cooper has been found out big time at the back over the last couple of weeks - HE CAN"T CATCH A HIGH BALL TO SAVE HIMSELF. Bring on the Boks and watch them drop them down his neck all night long. Put him on the bench and bring him on with 30 to...

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

looking at the stats, the ruskies has us beat just about everywhere except on the scoreboard. That was shit and very frustrating to watch. The darkeness and Saffas would have put 120 on the Ruskies today I think.......and as usual, RD has jack shit to say for himself after the game. At the end...

No disrespect to you Light, but could someone please tell me what that reason was again?

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

Agree with one exception......put McCabe on the bench and start Barnes. If he kicks well against Russia then Barnes has to start as we have no other options - Cooper's place kicking is a bit of shit and both Beale and JOC (James O'Connor) have not looked any better - not mention that they are both nursing tender...

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

I just don't f***n get it!!!! We have a 30 man squad at this world cup and we are looking at the possibility of having our forwards as our backup centers????? WTF !!! Why are we in this damn situation? Yes, injuries I know, but surely someone needs to be sent home so we can get some fit bodies...

Australia - our most valuable players at this World Cup

I would be really interested to find out how other members would rank the Australian players in order of "importance to Australia's success" at this world cup. Imagine you were back in the school yard and you were picking your team. In what order would you pick your players. In my opinion, it...

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

Agree with slim and I think this situation just highlights the importance of a fit Pocock. With the attacking player going down via a low tackle, the opportunity for Pocock to come in quickly over top will present itself. The loosies are going to have to be on their game and if Pocock is on...
