Many locks can make a claim on their own ability, but the true legends in the position are so often mentioned in the same breath as their locking partner: Matfield and Botha; Johnson and Kay; and I bet Whitelock and Retallick will soon be joining that list. It's telling how good Eales was that...

John I. Dent Cup 2018 - ACT Premier Rugby

There were reports that ACTRU were looking into all of their uses of reserves in 1sts. Solid chance that the warning means this was the only example of the rule being broken.

Having Hawera at 10 let Eagles play in a similar style to Uni, but with more use of the backline. I expect that Uni will train for their own game, and the only difference will be that the forwards will do more work against Eagles, the backs doing more work against Whites.

John I. Dent Cup 2018 - ACT Premier Rugby

The rules exist to prevent club rugby from becoming too professional. It's fine to have your 1st grade starters that you haven't used in other games, we want you to have some 1st graders who came from your lower grades. It's basically impossible to be without an option, either, as you'll...

    Australian Rugby / RA

In 2015, the second Bledisloe wasn't a SANZAR thing, it was just an agreement between us and the kiwis. It's not outside the realms of possibility that our three Rugby Championship games are NZ home, SA and Arg away, and then the second Bledisloe held in NZ.

Is it a full Rugby Championship, or another stunted one like in 2015? The Perth Bledisloe could theoretically be the only home game the Wallabies have in 2019.

I've much preferred Lucas' impact on games, though I do acknowledge that it can be easier from the bench. Could have also gone for Cusack or Valetini over McCaffrey, or Carter over Enever. I agree that we will be a better version of ourselves!

Obviously we need depth. Obviously. But the more I think about it, the happier I am to think our lineup next year could be: Scott Sio Folau Fainga'a Allan Ala'alatoa Rory Arnold Blake Enever Lachlan McCaffrey David Pocock Pete Samu Matt Lucas Christian Lealiifano Andrew Muirhead Irae Simone...

I'm a half-hearted Canes fan after living there for a few years. I can't wait for him and Toby Smith to be gone.

Only changes between the Uni team that beat Royals 26-25 and the team that lost to the Eagles on the weekend is one of the locks and the number 8. We've seen them collapse before (Easts rd1, Wests rd7, Whites rd12). I still reckon they pull it off this weekend.

John I. Dent Cup 2018 - ACT Premier Rugby

I have to say, this is one of the toughest seasons I can remember. In terms of quality on field, you'd think the top 4 would be Vikings-Royals-Uni-Easts, but it could easily have been Vikings-Royals-Uni-Whites. Whites will rue their terrible goalkicking against Royals back in May; make even one...

His defensive stats leave something to be desired; a shame that we're losing Peter Ryan, he was a master at fixing that up. Happy with the signing, though. A guy with good potential, clearly has the mind and body for the position, just needs to work out that technique.

Will Hooper be fit? I was picking under the assumption he wouldn't. Obviously he starts if he is able.

    The Wallabies Thread

I'd say Coleman and Rodda the starting locks, Samu-Pocock-Timu the starting backrow, Philip and Hanigan on the bench.

Agree with the rest. I still think it will be a backline of Genia-Foley-DHP-Beale-Rona-Koroibete-Folau, but it could well be Genia-Foley-Hodge-Beale-Folau-Koroibete-DHP.
