Statistically, our attack is better than last year, but we certainly look less capable. And, talent wise, I'll say we're better everywhere but 6. But there's a complacency about the team. They need proper coaching, that's clear, but they also need to be shocked into fighting tooth and nail for...

Even at his worst, Kuridrani is an acomplished tackler and makes good defensive reads to shut down overlaps, and his runs always draw defenders, such that, even when he doesn't break the line, he makes gaps elsewhere.

Poey back against the Tahs. No other changes to the starting line up.

Also makes us sad, so that's an advantage for you :P

I'd say that, potential injuries aside, that's the end of Godwin's season for us. He's not like a Fardy who is performing at his peak; his game time is also his development time, and we should be developing other players and other combinations.

I have confidence in Fainga'a, Abel, and McInerney to see us through, though it's a terrible loss. Luke Holmes as emergency cover once more? :P

No, but the issue is findings someone who has a good partnership with Coleman, and Carter clearly doesn't.

Only other options seem to be Higgers or Holloway, and we know what he thinks of both of them. Maybe Pocock though.

TMO should be for situations where is reasonable that the referee can't make an informed decision. Things that the ref literally couldn't see, or stuff like that. But it shouldn't be like seeing a lawyer, it should be a situation where the camera angle is used to give an angle that the ref...

Super Rugby Round 5, Waratahs vs Rebels - Sunday 18 March @ 4pm

At some point the ref needs to make a call himself and not wait for the touchies to shout or refer it to the TMO.

The ref was right there, come on. And terrible work by the TMO.

There wasn't a clear plan to our attack, and we lacked discipline, but we kicked our first goals since Japan and we won the game. That's an improvement.

Just heard McKellar on 666, talked about a few things that I found interesting: Team meeting this week was all about converting opportunities, they're willing to risk creating less for the security of converting more. The Hawera-Lilo 10-12 pairing has been on his mind since he saw Hawera's...

I won't deny that Tomane and White ended up being better players than Peni/Taliauli/Dargaville and Powell are now, but they definitely didn't start out at that level! Tomane was behind Coleman and Rathbone for the first two years, and White was competing with Prior for the starting spot until...

I wrote this at the end of last season: I stand by most of that. I still believe that Jakeball is not a bad thing. But we aren't playing Jakeball, because our defence is shit and we don't play territory. The problem is how we attack. Only the Chiefs have a worse attack than us, and they would...

It's ridiculous. With the exception of blindside flanker (no shame in being worse than Fardy), none of our first choice players are worse than their 2017 counterparts. I think Lilo clearly has the higher ceiling as a 10; his ability to deceive the defensive line and to get the ball away under...
